✨🆕 We’re excited to announce our investment in Iconic Steps, a production company with a social impact! Iconic Steps not only delivers high-quality digital marketing, advertising, and communications services but also trains and upskills young people (16-25) from diverse backgrounds, opening doors to careers in the media industry. We’ve provided pre-investment and skills support to CEO and founder Victoria Ijeh-Allen and her team, helping them refine their business plan and impact strategies. Our funding investment will enable them to expand their capacity, grow their impact, and achieve their ambitious goals. Victoria says: “We chose to take on investment from Sumerian Foundation because they took the time to deeply understand our impact model and business needs, adding value and building trust with our team.” This partnership aligns with our commitment to inclusive investment and our intentional Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) focus where we prioritise organisations led by or serving women and/or Black, Asian, and ethnically diverse communities. Last Tuesday, Iconic Steps, in partnership with Credera UK, hosted another impactful session dedicated to overcoming the challenges and hurdles faced by young creatives in the industry! The session was centred around building resilience and fostering a growth mindset—two essential skills that empower individuals to navigate the ups and downs of a rapidly evolving creative landscape. We were honoured to have three incredible speakers from Credera, Andy Gifford, Laurent Nicourt, and Githana Gnanavel, lead the way with a combination of practical insights, interactive group work, and heartfelt advice drawn from their personal journeys. One of the most powerful moments of the session came when the young creatives were encouraged to share their own stories. This created an engaging and inviting environment where participants practiced resilience by reflecting on their experiences and supporting one another through the highs and lows. The room was filled with empathy, inspiration, and a shared determination to grow together. It was inspiring to witness the energy and enthusiasm in the room as participants gained not only actionable strategies but also the confidence to persevere in their own creative paths. We are excited to share the success of our recent 'CVs, Presentations, and Interviews' Industry Insight Session, hosted in partnership with Credera. This interactive session, designed for young people aged 16–35, aimed to equip attendees with the skills to stand out in the job application process. Led by our fantastic speakers—Rachel Logue, Olivia Jones, and Derek Moore—participants gained practical insights into building impactful CVs, preparing for interviews, and delivering effective presentations. The hands-on approach received excellent feedback. One attendee shared, “It helped me think about what goes into interviews and pitches and even reflect on what I really want for myself.”   A huge thank you to our speakers and attendees for their energy and engagement. Iconic Steps partners with various major media organisations to support young people in their journey into the creative industry. **These partnerships include companies like Netflix, Disney, Warner Bros, and ITV.** 🙌 Their dedication to helping young people develop growth mindsets and break into the media industry is nothing short of inspiring.
