Last week the TEG team attended Experience on Main Street Conference to cheer on our very own Neil Connolly (pictured here mid panel...)   Now in its second year, the conference connects experience makers, developers, landlords, architects, culture and tourism specialists, leisure operators, planners and placemakers.    Here’s a few wise words we heard from the stage -    🫵 If landlords and developers are the ‘hardware’, experience makers are the ‘software’. Give creators the space, time and resources to make magic.  👀  More than ever, people are looking for unique things to do and those experiences drive footfall and increase dwell time (and local spending). 📣  Retail is evolving, not dying. It's crucial to develop flexible spaces that can adapt and transform over time. 🌎  Travel habits are shifting; local attendance and domestic tourism are becoming increasingly vital for urban prosperity. 🫶 Engage locally – get to know your neighbours. Build something culture led, don’t try to bake it in afterwards for commercial gain.  💸 LBE attractions require years, not months, to develop – they are not commercially viable in temporary spaces and need time to become destinations that foster community. 🤝 Landlords and experience makers need to go on a journey together, start with the customer in mind and co-create. 💥  What ever you do, make a decision. Not making a decision is a decision to do nothing.   A huge big thank you to the Experience UK team for having us. See you next year!

He will be part of the keynote panel titled ‘Building a Shared Understanding’ (4.30pm - 5.20pm).
