Impact Pumps' products bring an unparalleled combination of performance, reliability and longevity to water lifting for drinking, sanitation and irrigation. We have two core product lines that can operate independently, or together as a combined solution: The SolarPlex is the world's first fully-scalable solar-surface water pump. It allows users to start pumping at minimal cost with as little as 100W of PV, adding more panels later as needed up to a maximum of 800W. With the SolarPlex, Impact Pumps has achieved an unprecedented combination of efficiency, robustness and affordability by miniaturising top-quality power electronics components, and integrating them into the pump motor. Our patented FlexExtend "Suction Lift Extender" is a radical new technology based on the Joukowski effect. The FlexExtend enables the SolarPlex, or any other suitable surface pump to lift groundwater with efficiencies of up to 85% from very low starting power up to over 800W. Inspired by the historic "hydraulic ram pump", known to be able to operate continuously for over 100 years, the FlexExtend has no sliding seals, motors or mechanisms below ground. Looking forward to presenting my TEDxWarwick talk “Imagine: universal access to safe water” on 10th February 2024. I will be talking about the role that photovoltaic devices can play in transforming the reliability and economics of off-grid water access, both for irrigation and safe domestic water supply. I will cover some of the latest developments in the field including the work of Thermofluidics Ltd, our partners Impact Pumps and Blue Tap and a few of our friends and colleagues working in the field.
