Had a great day scouting stores in London yesterday with my brother from another retail mother Ian Scott. Fair to say we talked about shops quite a lot. Anyway, among his many brilliant insights he started talking about how the best window designs are often achieved on a low budget - because it's the design and creativity that really matters. I videoed his thoughts outside a great example of this at Canada Goose on Regent Street. PS - I think I only counted 3 people that I angered by filming this on the pavement, which is a personal record for me (normally at least 10).

Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending the day wandering around London with my Retail Twin, Jack Stratten. We popped into the Gymshark store on Regent Street, which seems to evolve and improve every time I visit. Here Jack talks about the use of hand written chalkboards and the workout room that delivers real authenticity to the store experience. By opening the doors to the workout room, it becomes a focal point for shoppers. We rarely buy a product for it's own right, we buy them to do something else. Selling that end use is highly effective. Which is why opening the doors to the workout session is so powerful. Seeing people using the clothing is the best way to showcase them. #LondonRetail #StoreExperience #ISRC
