What a morning it’s been here at Inspire Youth Zone! Sir John Timpson CBE has just delivered an incredibly inspiring talk kindly sponsored by CG. Everyone listened to his humbling, game-changing theory to employment: Upside-down Management. Timpson’s secret to success? It’s all about people over stats. John shared how they hire based on personality fit rather than just experience, ensuring their team truly meshes with the role. Weekly Friday personal check-ins with staff focus on well-being—not performance charts. It’s a refreshing, human-first approach that’s clearly working. Instead of top-down control, Timpson empowers its frontline employees to make decisions, while leadership’s job is to remove obstacles. The result? A business where trust and autonomy drive success. What truly struck a chord was hearing about how Timpson's go beyond the workplace to change lives. Whether it’s helping employees with dental care, IVF, or supporting former prisoners in finding employment. Sir John’s message today couldn’t be more aligned with our core values in raising aspirations and unlocking potential. Just as Timpson gives people the chance to rebuild and thrive, Inspire is committed to empowering young people to overcome barriers and reach their full potential. INSPIREing the next generation! We are still buzzing with excitement from our first-ever Broadening Horizons careers event, held last week. The day was filled with creativity, curiosity, and inspiration, as local high school students and Young People explored new career paths beyond the classroom. The feedback has been truly heart-warming: 💚 Parklands High School shared: "Just to say a huge thanks – the whole day was really enjoyed by our students (and staff). Thanks for inviting us and well done to your team!" 💚 Holy Cross was equally enthusiastic, highlighting how impactful the workshops were in engaging and motivating their students. From hands-on creative challenges to problem-solving activities, students had the chance to discover new skills, build confidence, and envision exciting futures they may not have considered before. It was incredible to see their curiosity spark and their ambitions grow throughout the day. This event would not have been possible without the generous support of local businesses and partners who brought their time, expertise, and creativity to the table.
