✨ 50 Walks for Emma – Honouring a Life, Supporting a Cause ✨ At the Institute for Social Value, we believe in the power of community, remembrance, and action. That’s why we’re proud to support Penny Anderson in her heartfelt mission to honour her friend Emma, who had planned to trek for CoppaFeel! before she sadly passed away. In Emma’s memory, Penny is taking on 50 walks in 2025, inviting friends, family, and supporters to walk, talk, and share memories—just as Emma would have loved. No walk is too big or too small; it’s all about keeping her spirit alive while raising awareness for CoppaFeel!, a charity dedicated to early breast cancer detection. 💖 Want to take part? Whether it’s a stroll around your garden or a hike up a mountain, every step counts. 📢 Support Penny’s journey and help spread the word! Let’s honour Emma’s legacy and support CoppaFeel!'s incredible work. 🔗 Donate to Penny’s fundraising page here: https://buff.ly/7CREuVj #50WalksForEmma #InMemoryOfEmma #BreastCancerAwareness #SocialValue #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #CoppaFeel

More than ever, businesses are expected to create social value, not just profit. But should they be leading the charge, or does responsibility still sit with governments and non-profits? Some argue that businesses have the resources to drive real change, while others believe social impact should remain in the hands of dedicated organisations. What do you think? Should businesses be responsible for driving social value, or is their role being overstated? #SocialValue #WisdomWednesdays #PurposeBeyondProfit #InstituteForSocialValue

Sat down with Monique Vassell from The Peacetime Zone to hear about her incredible work creating safe spaces for healing, growth, and connection. 🌿 Based in Enfield, The Peacetime Zone provides a welcoming sanctuary for those facing mental and physical health challenges, isolation, and financial hardship. Through eco-friendly therapeutic gardening, skills development, and community support, they’re helping people reconnect with nature, build confidence, and gain valuable life skills - completely free of charge. A brilliant initiative that truly brings social value to life! 👏 It was especially lovely to connect with Monique as a fellow Trinbagonian! 🇹🇹 We even bonded over our shared love of doubles (one of our national dishes) - because no Trini conversation is complete without mentioning food! #SocialValue #CommunityImpact #Wellbeing #Sustainability #Collaboration #TrinidadAndTobago #Doubles

The Employment Rights Bill: Report Stage is Here! 📄 Last week, the government announced a further 200 pages of amendments to its landmark Employment Rights Bill, which seeks to overhaul workers’ rights, improve wellbeing, and boost productivity. With Report Stage scheduled to take place this week, we have taken a look at some of the key provisions within the bill, including day-one employment rights, protection against ‘fire and rehire’, and the creation of a Fair Work Agency, as well as the potential impact of the changes on businesses, communities, and the Social Value Landscape more broadly, in our Employment Rights Bill Policy Brief. 🌍 This International Women's Day, my team and I are participating in WaterAid's Walk for Water challenge to support women and girls worldwide. Millions of women and girls walk over 5km daily to collect water, impacting their education and livelihoods. For instance, Harriet, a 27-year-old mother from Malawi, spends up to six hours each day fetching water, limiting her ability to work or care for her family. By walking 155km this March, we're raising funds to provide clean water access - enabling girls to attend school and women to pursue economic opportunities. At The Institute for Social Value, we believe in empowering communities, and WaterAid's mission aligns with our commitment to social value. If you'd like to support this cause, please consider donating to our walk here: https://lnkd.in/ebi6PriB You can also join the challenge and walk/dance/run/push alongside us here (see the comments for more information): https://lnkd.in/eP4yiKMK Small steps can lead to big change. 💧✨ #InternationalWomensDay #SocialValue #WomenEmpowerment #WaterAid #SocialImpact
