  • There has been a flurry of Davis Cup news this week after the teams that will compete at the 2024 Davis Cup Final 8 in November were announced and the release of the Davis Cup Final 8 schedule. There is already much excitement over the possible return of Nadalcaraz – the Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz doubles partnership that took the Paris 2024 Olympic Tennis Event by storm – in Malaga. As a result, why don’t we throw a Davis Cup quiz question into the mix as we head into the weekend? #tennis #daviscup #worldcupoftennis #malaga #andalusia #nadal #alcaraz #nadalcaraz

Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti recently contested the final of the Chengdu Open – an ATP 250 tournament – held at the Sichuan International Tennis Center in Chengdu, China. This was the same stadium in which he competed at the ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Finals in 2018. Much has happened for Lorenzo – on and off court – since then. He is now a dad, while his many on-court achievements include reaching No. 15 in the world rankings, being crowned a Davis Cup champion and winning bronze at the Paris 2024 Olympic Tennis Event. There are many contributing factors to Lorenzo achieving what he has, not least his own skill, dedication and professionalism, but he is yet another example of someone who has benefitted from and harnessed the power of the player pathway. We at the ITF still remember Lorenzo competing at the Davis Cup Juniors Finals, the Youth Olympic Games and winning his first ITF World Tennis Tour title – all important steps on his journey to the game’s summit. The 2024 edition of the ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Finals takes place from 16-20 October where we may catch sight of the next Lorenzo Musetti. The players who have qualified for the junior equiavalent of the ATP and WTA Finals will be announced next week! #tennis #juniors #development #pathway #chengdu #china #italy #musetti

The ITF has set clear and measurable goals in their support of the HeForShe agenda, including the investment of $2.5m to increase both the number of women’s ITF tournament and the prize money on offer. Further details of the ITF’s commitment to the HeForShe movement through the ITF Advantage All gender equality strategy can be found in the 2024 HeForShe Alliance Impact Report: https://t.ly/gPVVd Advantage All continues to make a cultural and tangible difference for women in tennis – on and off court. HeForShe #tennis #advantageall #genderequality #HeForShe
