  • 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟗𝟗%. That was the simple reason we created Momentum. Tennis is a sport defined by moments. But for the 𝟗𝟗% 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧, how do we recognise their passion? How do we show them that their time, attention, and commitment to the sport matter—whether they’re watching a highlight, checking a score, or following the latest news? Momentum was our answer. We embarked on this adventure with Trace, a UK-based startup pioneering the credentialing of fandom through digital assets. Why digital assets? Because these 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞. Unlike physical merchandise, digital assets can be distributed to any fan, anywhere in the world - at nominal marginal cost. But they can also be tied to a moment in time, to storytelling, to the ATP Tour itself. One of the biggest questions we faced: 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐞? That’s where blockchain came in. By working with an incredible team at Sui Foundation / Mysten Labs, we ensured that once the claim window closed and the artworks had been collected, 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. No second editions. No replicas. Just proof that you showed up. This is the promise of Web3—the ability to use digital ownership to create real connections with fans around the world. To give them something they can truly own, forever, as a takeaway from their experience with the ATP Tour. Is this the start of something bigger? We think so.
