#LTATennisFoundation charity partner, The Access to Sports Project, were awarded a grant to scale up their 'Tennis For All' programme, and start delivering sessions in South Islington. These sessions, led by dedicated female coach Karen, have been designed to be both inclusive and enjoyable, fostering a welcoming environment from the outset. Recognising the importance of building a community to ensure the programme's success, the team implemented a variety of low-cost and free activities to encourage participation. Nestled in the heart of Bishopton to the west of Glasgow is Bishopton Tennis Club, which was founded in the 1920s, and today remains at the heart of the community, with three outdoor courts and a vibrant social scene. The club was recently awarded a Quick Access Loan from the #LTATennisFoundation to install floodlights, which will mean they are able to extend their community tennis programmes, which already includes a number of dedicated sessions for women and girls. This #InternationalWomensDay we want to shine a light on and celebrate our coaching workforce, and the women who play an essential role in growing and inspiring participation across all levels, particularly amongst women and girls. On and off-court, tennis has set the agenda for women’s sport for well over 100 years. Much progress has been made, but we want to do even more to encourage more women to become coaches and activators. We spoke to three women in coach and activator roles - Manjinder, Rushan and Leah - to find out what inspires and motivates them, and what they’d say to any women thinking of getting involved.

We've been shortlisted! The LTA have been shortlisted for two categories for this year's Sport Industry Group Awards: 🌟 Best on Social - Serving up a summer of tennis, alongside Little Dot Studios 🌟 Long-Form Content Award - 'Andy Murray - By those who know him best', in conjunction with the team at Whisper These nominations are the latest industry recognition the LTA has received, after our Tennisables campaign to encourage more children to pick up a racket and play, produced alongside The Kite Factory, was shortlisted in the Campaign UK Media Awards. Our teams work hard every year to promote and bring to life the stories in British tennis, and 2024 saw some remarkable ones, from the retirement of our greatest ever player to the emergence of new stars like Jacob Fearnley and Sonay Kartal, and it's fantastic to see this hard work receive the recognition of the wider industry.
