Today is Conflict Resolution Day, a day that serves as a reminder of the importance of resolving disputes and conflicts through non-violent means, effective communication and finding common ground. We have recently delivered brand new Key Intervention Tools (K.I.T.) Training sessions to our partners Jobs 22 focussed on conflict resolution skills. Take a look at some of the feedback we’ve received so far! 💬 #ConflictResolutionDay #ConflictResolutionSkills #DialogueForChange.

  • On this World Mental Health Day, let's prioritise our mental well-being and support those around us🧠 This year, the World Federation for Mental Health has set the theme as Mental Health at Work. We recognise and value the importance of openly discussing mental health in the workplace. A supportive environment, manageable workload, and a culture of care can make all the difference for our well-being. Together, we can build healthier, more productive workplaces where everyone thrives💼 ✨ Check-in with yourself and the people around you, and remember - seeking help is a sign of strength💪 Mental health matters every day, not just today💚 #WMHD24 #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthAtWork

The service aims to drive a reduction in risk, promote pro-social behaviour and improve mental wellbeing amongst men in prison as well as staff teams. Matt Randle, Director of Justice at Catch22 says, “This service aligns strongly with Catch22’s commitment to a more rehabilitative criminal justice system and will support prisons to address the root causes of violence. Read this beautiful poem written by one of our learners who completed our Intuitive Recovery course in HMP Styal in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust👏 ⬇ Welcome to class come in, sit down. Let's change that depressing addicted frown. First let's learn all about ʻAmbivalenceʼ you might not understand at first glance.” It’s all about putting ʻITʼ in its position, the pushmi pullu of indecision. ʻIʼ knows what it wants, where ʻITʼ craves what you don't want. Learning about neo-cortex and mid-brain taking control, you'll soon see what you'll gain. Defining your craving known as Addictive Desire, so you can start building your abstinent empire. Taking control – it’s your iron fist, without your AD is useless, I hope you get the gist. #DrugAndAlcoholService #RecoverySupport #Empowerment

  • 👏 Amazing feedback from one of our learners who sat our abstinence course, Intuitive Recovery ⬇ “Before sitting the Intuitive Recovery course, I was unemployed after being signed off from work drinking alcohol daily and only allowed supervised visits with my daughter. After breaking my leg and feeling there was little hope regarding my future, I continued to make negative choices and nothing improved in my life. In January 2024 I completed the Intuitive Recovery course with Connor in North Wales. I Really enjoyed the course and it gave me an understanding of the science and reasoning behind Addictive Desire. The course helped put me back in control and empowered me to make better decisions and focus on making positive changes in my life. I now have a substantial amount of time where I have not used alcohol. Since the course, I have regained full custody of my daughter and have gained full-time employment. • September is National Recovery Month💜 This month is all about raising awareness of substance misuse and mental health recovery, it serves as a time to celebrate the successes of the people who have navigated the challenges of substance misuse or mental health. We recognise the dedication of our staff, families, and communities who support people through their recovery. It fosters a sense of hope, reduces stigma, and demonstrates that recovery is possible, emphasising the importance of treatment and mental health services🙌 🎯We are proud to say 70% of our staff have lived experience themselves. We value those personal experiences and recognise that people's strengths are built upon them. Lived experience is having a direct and plausible experience of the challenges that our learners face within their communities such as drugs and alcohol, mental health, debt, homelessness, domestic abuse, trauma, and long-term unemployment. Having a relative knowledge of these situations gives people a unique set of skills and insight as well as an understanding of the social barriers and pitfalls which create the gaps in our services. By developing people's lived experience we are focussing on their strengths, recognising the faults in our society and helping people who've been through difficulties to not only solve their own problems but the problems of their communities👏 📬As part of our monthly newsletter, we have a 'Meet the Team' series where our staff members share their lived experiences and how the overcame their challenges. Meet Nina, one of our ambassadors in the Stockport Drug and Alcohol Service (SDAS), which is a partnership between us, Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust and Acorn recovery projects🙌 🔘Nina says she had been aware for over ten years that she was drinking too much. In 2022 she was going through a difficult divorce and found herself drinking a lot to ‘numb the pain’. 🔘In May 2022 she confided to her GP that she needed help and got referred to our Intuitive Recovery course through the SDAS partnership. Nina said: ‘This course was a real lightbulb moment for me. It made sense why I had struggled to stop drinking for so many years—it was all about my subconscious mind giving me what I thought I needed to feel better. Once I’d finished the course, I completed a week-long detox as a home service user.’ 🔘After completing the course, Nina decided to become an ambassador, and later on started a podcast to connect with the community of Stockport and Greater Manchester. 🎙️Nina wanted to create a platform to discuss positive aspects of the community such as upcoming events and school activities, as well as challenging subjects such as substance misuse and domestic abuse. 🎯Nina’s goal is for listeners to feel empowered, informed, and walk away with knowledge and a sense of community. It’s also about encouraging open conversations—no topic is too taboo to discuss. 🔗 You can listen to Nina’s podcast on Spotify: https://zurl.co/bBXF #DrugandAlcohol #StockportCommunity #Ambassador #Podcast #Spotify
