🌟UK-India Emerging Tech Program Roundtable 🌟 Last week, we were part of a roundtable at Novotel London West, bringing together leaders from industry, academia and public sector to discuss the road to market in AI & Semiconductors. This event was part of the UK-India Emerging Tech Program, an initiative aiming to promote the partnership between the two countries in advanced technologies. With a strong focus on Artificial intelligence and Semiconductor advancement, the programme aims at connecting companies in smart electronics to tackle emerging challenges and promote NextGen technologies. Hosted by T-Hub, in partnership with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Inventya Ltd was happy to support this fantastic event. Key Takeaways: ✅The importance of supportive policies and government initiatives for nurturing AI and semiconductor innovations. ✅Unique opportunities in the UK for Indian SMEs, particularly in funding, talent acquisition, and research infrastructure. ✅Insights into how UK and Indian companies can collaborate to drive innovation and growth in emerging technologies. Great insights were shared by Charles Sturman and Jurga Zilinskiene MBE around the key themes above. They also provided comprehensive highlights of the opportunities that exist in the UK ecosystem and discussed what more we can do to address the scaleup challenges. This campaign helps bring joy to children and teenagers across the UK by ensuring they receive a gift this Christmas. 📢 We invite businesses in Warrington to support this cause by encouraging employees to donate a new, unwrapped toy or a gift for a teenager. A huge thank you to everyone who participated in and contributed to the Deliberation Workshop at #ROSCon2024 yesterday! 🎉 🤖 Thank you to Christian, Matthias, Sebastian, Davide, David O. and David Conner for sharing their expertise and guiding participants through an engaging day of hands-on learning. Throughout the day, the participants were guided step-by-step to help increase their understanding of behaviour trees, finite-state machines, task planning, and verification and validation systems, while applying deliberation tools to solve different robotic problems.  To showcase the diversity of the tools, participants had the opportunity to tackle predefined tasks using deliberation technologies such as BehaviorTree.CPP, FlexBE, ros_bt_py, SkiROS2, and the AS2FM tool by CONVINCE, guided by the maintainers of the tools.  The workshop provided a unique opportunity for participants to explore how different tools can be applied to solve a variety of robotic challenges, helping them gain insights into which approaches are most suitable for their specific projects. The day concluded with a reflective session in which participants shared their experiences, challenges, and insights. Here are the standout moments of the day: A key highlight was the introduction of Maxine Adam, who has recently joined Inventya’s board as a Non-Executive Director. Many of us were already familiar with her influential work as Deputy Director for Business Growth at Innovate UK, and her address more than met our expectations 👏. Maxine spoke with great admiration for the work being done at Inventya, and her warm, engaging manner exemplified true leadership 🌟. She shared how deeply Inventya’s mission and values resonate with her, which is why she chose to join the board. The team-building exercise brought a playful yet competitive spirit to the day as we embraced the challenge of constructing the tallest tower 🏗️ using pasta, marshmallows, and tape. However, the true lesson wasn’t in the height of the towers—it lay in the strength of the foundations. In the end, only one team’s tower stood tall, underscoring the fact that, just like in our work, solid teamwork is the key to success 🏆. We closed the day with a heartfelt show-and-tell session 💬, where colleagues shared personal items that revealed hidden talents 🎨 and unique histories 📜. From cherished family heirlooms to childhood newspaper features, it was clear that we are a team full of remarkable individuals, each with a story worth sharing 📖. As the day came to an end, one message resonated: Inventya isn’t just a company striving for professional excellence. We are building a future rooted in inclusion, diversity 🌍, and personal growth 🌱. Last week, the AIRCARE consortium gathered in Genoa, Italy, for a two-day kickoff meeting, bringing all partners together in-person for the first time. The AIRCARE Project aims to advance AI-augmented robotics in cancer care. 🤖💡 See more details and photographs on our Project Website: https://lnkd.in/g4RtNRbV A special thanks to Leonardo Mattos and Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia for organising and hosting, the presenters (Claudio Sampieri, Berta Alegre Edo, Francesco Mora, Giorgio Peretti, Gernot Kronreif), the surgeons at San Martino Hospital and Isabel Vilaseca González who provided valuable insights into the challenges of diagnosing and treating Upper Aerodigestive Track (UADT) diseases, alongside the regulatory and clinical complexities involved in bringing technological innovations to patient care. One of the main highlights of the event was the demonstration of AIRCARE's prototype diagnostic and treatment systems. Additionally, all partners had the opportunity to engage in open discussions on patient outcomes, user needs, and optimising care quality. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the advisory board for their participation in the kick-off meeting. A special thank you to Marian Pfeffer for attending the on-site session.
