💚Sustainability is very important to us at Bosch Research. To support our mission, we invited our employees and their families to plant trees at our Bosch Research Campus in Renningen, Germany, during the fall school break. These newly planted trees will provide an additional and valuable food source for small mammals, reptiles, songbirds, and insects, helping to enhance local biodiversity and contribute to a healthier environment. Thank you to everyone who participated!🌳 #BoschResearch #Sustainability #Employees #HelpingHands #CommunityImpact

🕵 Detective’s work at Bosch? Last weekend, teams of talented students took on an exciting AI challenge from Bosch Research at the Neural Wave hackathon in Lugano, Switzerland. Their mission? To uncover the root causes of manufacturing scrap. Like detectives, they sifted through data clues to pinpoint the factors behind part failures. In the end, their innovative AI approaches proved successful, revealing actionable insights to reduce scrap, boost efficiency, and shrink our carbon footprint. We're thrilled by the dedication and ingenuity shown by all participants! Special congratulations to the winning team for their outstanding work. #BoschResearch #NeuralWaveCH #Innovation #AI #Hackathon

In 2022, we joined forces with Q.ANT, TRUMPF, the German Aerospace Center (DLR), and the Ferdinand-Braun-Institute to establish the QYRO partnership, aimed at developing space-ready rotation sensors using quantum effects. Just last week, the consortium came together for its two-year meeting at our Bosch Research Campus in Renningen, Germany. The goal? To create an NMR-based quantum gyroscope for CubeSat satellites. This will help control satellite orientation precisely and improve communication in satellite networks. Supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), QYRO is all about innovation. Over the past few days, we shared updates, discussed new ideas, and planned the next steps. We’re now halfway through the project and excited to see its impact on space technology and quantum tech. Save the date: the first satellite with QYRO technology will launch in 2027! 🚀 Thank you to all our partners for your dedication and contributions! #BoschResearch #Innovation #QuantumTechnology #Space #Satellite

Recently, representatives from various Bosch business units came together at Bosch Research to discuss 𝗨𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (UQ), an interdisciplinary field that bridges applied mathematics and scientific computing. UQ plays a vital role in various applications, particularly in component simulation and software-intensive systems, by helping us understand and manage the uncertainties inherent in complex models. A key objective of the colloquium was to bring together the UQ community at Bosch in order to link applications, methods, and science, and to promote the translation of UQ research topics into practical, industry-oriented solutions. A highlight was the presentation by external speaker Prof. Dr. Bruno Sudret from the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland, who presented newly developed UQ methods that enable the handling of systems with intrinsically stochastic behavior. Additionally, Priv.-Doz. Dr. Martin Eigel from the Weierstraß-Institut for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) in Berlin, Germany, discussed his work on robust optimization and tensor calculus, demonstrating how these techniques can significantly accelerate complex simulation processes. A big thank you to Michael Schick, Daniel Schwarzer, Nicola Henkelmann and Johannes von Keler for making this insightful event possible! Let’s continue to leverage UQ methodologies to drive innovation in our projects. 🚀 #BoschResearch #UncertaintyQuantification #Collaboration #Bosch #Colloquium

I am Damir Shakirov, Senior Data Scientist at Bosch Research. When I joined the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence (BCAI) in 2018, AI in manufacturing was still a novel concept. Now, nearly seven years later, it's incredible to see how far we’ve come - and I’m proud to have contributed to this transformation. My journey at Bosch began in 2013 as a student with a clear goal: to reduce scrap rates by better understanding and controlling manufacturing processes. While the technologies have evolved, my mission remains the same. Today, I’m working with Generative AI to bring us closer to creating a virtual expert that can assist in configuring production lines and detecting issues in real time. At Bosch, research isn’t just about ideas - it’s about turning them into real-world applications. I’m grateful to collaborate with colleagues worldwide to develop AI solutions that are "Invented for life." Our aim? To reduce waste and make manufacturing more sustainable. 🌍🔍 If you want to learn more about me and my work, please visit my profile ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eMFmGMcm #BoschResearch #Experts #GenerativeAI #DataScience #Innovation
