IOHA is excited to announce another great webinar taking place on the 23rd of April 2025! The webinar theme is: New Horizons in Hearing Safety: Exploring the Future of Hearing Protector Fit Testing. The presenters are Dr.J Andrew Merkley and S.Allison Reid. They have extensive experience in occupational audiology and -hygiene. IOHA invites all its member organisations to register for the webinar. A recent article published in American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA)’s Synergist magazine discusses IOHA’s Community of Practice on Particulate Matter Sensor Technologies and its role in the field of Occupational Hygiene. "IOHA aims for the COP to help advance the profession by connecting experts from across the globe to share knowledge and practices. In addition, the COP aligns with IOHA’s mission to enhance the worldwide OH network. The intent behind the IOHA COP is to streamline the OH profession’s approach to topics such as PM sensor technologies, removing the need for national organizations to start sensor technology programs from scratch or duplicate each other’s efforts." Nancy Wilk, IOHA President and Board Director on behalf of ACGIH, will be attending the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs Partnership Forum (2025 ECOSOC Partnership Forum) on Wednesday 5 February 2025 as a member of the Global Occupational Safety and Health Coalition (GOSH Coalition) which represents 17 international groups that are requesting and advocating for increased protections for worker health globally. She will be presenting a statement with proposed changes to the SDG's which include: -Stronger targets for reducing occupational injuries and illness -Basic Occupational Health Services for all workers, including informal workers -Better protection for young workers -Protection of workers from adverse effects of climate change.
