Our vision is a world where no one is held back by their period. We deliver programmes and research in the UK and East Africa to support young people and and their communities to address menstruation related barriers- working on issues young people tell us are ways that their periods hold them back. We are a learning organisation focused on research and learning related programme implementation. We champion innovative research and approaches working with a wide range of partners. We aim to disseminate learning and transition successful programmes to partners who can support long-term delivery and actively encourage our learning to be replicated by others.

Meet 22 year old Irise period activist, Molly! Molly has been a young volunteer with Irise and has joined our Empower Period Committee Youth Board as Chair. Molly’s campaign, Love Your Period, has been responsible for many large period dignity successes in Wales, including free period products in schools, now campaigning for education alongside it after her own experience of illness. At Irise Molly has had the opportunity lead Wales in the UK #everyperiodcounts movement, be part of the period parade in London, be part of press release campaigns for Irise and be in a network of many other young activists to support and inspire one another. Meet 17-year-old Tilly. Tilly has experienced painful and heavy periods that’s disrupted her education, as well as wider parts of her life. Tilly wanted to help her peers get access to not only correct information, but good quality period products that would take away the anxiety of leaking. Tilly has become a valued member of the Irise community as one of our Empower Period Award winners in 2022.
