I had the pleasure of handing out awards to some of the winners of the Big Writing Challenge run by Social Enterprise Kent at Canterbury Cathedral Lodge last week. It was an honour to meet some of the talented writers who submitted short stories and poems on the theme of "A Wonderful World". The creativity and expressiveness were exceptional! Big thanks to Rebecca, Joanne, Sophie, Gina, Kay for all the work that went into this competition. Look out for this year's Big Writing Challenge on the theme of "Curious Creatures"! (This post is a little late because I actually chose NOT to work on my days off for once. Sorry - not sorry). https://lnkd.in/eU3qePWc Kent & Medway Careers Hub The Education People The Careers & Enterprise Company Cactus Graphics

Great to know that more students are aware of the range of vocational and academic pathways available post-16. Thanks for your continued support Emily! #choice #apprenticeships #NAW25 The Careers & Enterprise Company The Education People
It's NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK and yesterday we kicked off with a LIVE PAL session hosted by Kent & Medway Careers Hub and The Careers & Enterprise Company. Year 12 students were able to receive information surrounding #apprenticeships #Tlevels and other #furthereducation opportunities from a variety of guest speakers, including #apprentices who shared their knowledge and experiences of their current journeys. ( Lower Thames Crossing North Kent College IPS International Ltd ) This provided students with a real insight of what an apprenticeship looks like including the benefits from both employment and studies. Every student who attended also received a student workbook which contained further information from different providers and general details on various technical and vocational pathways. #nationalapprenticeshipweek #NAW25 #destinations #STEMlearning #STEMeducation #employerengagement #pathways #careerpathway

This is amazing! To put it into context 15,000 students is roughly equivalent to the population of Hythe! The young apprentices and T-Level students provided a great insight into the world of vocational learning and some of the skills they have picked up along the way - very well done to all who took part. We will be making the recordings available on KentChoices after half term
