We're bringing The Happy Wanderer back to life! We're delighted to announce that Keon Homes has partnered with Black Country Housing Group to turn the derelict The Happy Wanderer pub in Bilston into 13 two and three-bedroom houses, and 6 one-bedroom flats. This project is set to regenerate the area by bringing a stalled brownfield site back to life and providing much-needed affordable housing for local people. Today marks World Menopause Day, highlighting a natural stage of life experienced by most females, yet remains a widely taboo subject. It's no secret the construction industry is male-dominated, but we are doing all we can to support our females internally, alongside equipping our people with the tools to support their loved ones at home, whether that be partners, parents, siblings or friends. Pete's fundraising partner is Pathway's, a domestic and sexual abuse service based in Lichfield. Meet Daniel Thomas, our Site Manager for Green Lanes in Bilston, running his first site on his own! ⭐ At Keon we truly believe in supporting our up and coming managers and give them the skills and support they need to push on with their careers. Dan joined the Keon team just over a year ago, and the Green Lanes site is his second project with us. His greatest professional achievement so far has been contributing to a highly challenging, award-winning site. When he's not leading successful projects, Dan enjoys spending time with his family and playing a lot of golf. Dan’s favourite part of his job is: "100% the people I meet and work with." Here’s a bit more about Dan: Q: If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be? A: Daniel ‘Ashville’ Louisy Q: What song, band, or artist gets you hyped in the morning? A: "Stronger" by Kanye West Q: What is something that always makes you smile? A: Dogs—any dog, every dog. Q: If you could choose a superpower, what would it be and why? A: I’d choose time travel so I could fix things from the past and find out the winning lottery numbers for Friday. "Dan is the Site Agent for Keon Homes on a 100% affordable housing scheme in Wolverhampton being built for Black Country Housing Group (BCHG). I have met and Dan several times at Site Meetings. Dan is very knowledgeable about the scheme, particularly the technical aspects. He is helpful, positive and cares about the quality of the end product. BCHG’s Clerk of Works most recent report stated ‘Workmanship of the substructure and foundations is to an extremely high standard.
