We are pleased to announce today that we will become The King’s Trust. This reflects the dedication of our Founder, His Majesty The King, and his continued passion for our work.   As we work towards this change in the coming months, we will continue to support young people to gain the confidence and skills to move into work, education and training.

Congratulations to the latest graduates of our Get Into Healthcare programme 🎉 Last month we joined our partners The Indus Hospital, Chanan Development Association (CDA) and The Lord Sarfraz Foundation to celebrate the most recent graduates of our Get Into Healthcare programme in Pakistan. Speakers shared inspiring stories of the programme’s success, highlighting the significant strides made towards reducing youth unemployment and skill mismatch in Pakistan’s labour market. Over 100 young people underwent the six-month programme and developed the technical and core skills to become Nursing Assistants, Hospital Technicians and Community Midwives. Speaking at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa yesterday, His Majesty The King reflected on his continued commitment to overcoming global challenges facing young people—in education, employment, and climate resilience—emphasizing that “we must find the right ways and the right language to address them.”   His Majesty highlighted his lifelong mission to create opportunities for young people through The King’s Trust International, noting, “when we met in Malta nearly a decade ago, I asked the then Prince’s Trust, now The King’s Trust…to expand its work internationally and across the Commonwealth.”   Since our founding announcement at the 2015 Commonwealth Meeting in Malta, we have expanded to over 20 countries, supporting more than 100,000 young people across the Commonwealth and beyond. Today we launch our new name and new look, renewing our commitment to young people. For almost 50 years, The King’s Trust has supported over 1.3 million brilliant young people in the UK and around the world. We were founded in 1976 by His Majesty King Charles III, the then Prince of Wales, to tackle youth unemployment. Together with partners, The Trust now delivers education, employment and enterprise programmes in over 20 countries around the world. Our mission is to work for young people by empowering them to build the skills for a brighter future. We are extremely proud that our new brand was created by Prince’s Trust alumnus, James Sommerville who received a grant to start a graphic design business from The Trust in 1986. Happy Independence Day to Nigeria! 🎉 After a successful pilot, we celebrated the official launch of our programmes in Nigeria in July 2023. So far, we’ve been able to support over 1,250 young people in the country. 73% of the young people who joined our Get Into programme with our partner @Field of Skills and Dreams VTE Academy Omowale Ogunrinde were in work or training within three months of completing the programme. We look forward to our continued collaboration with Lagos State Employment Trust Fund and the British Council as well as forging new partnerships with local delivery partners and employers. To celebrate we’re sharing images from our launch week.

A shared goal for empowering youth around the world🌍 Today our CEO Will Straw attended the Global Leadership Council with UNICEF's Generation Unlimited, a leading public, private, youth partnership to meet the changing needs of young people and create inclusive opportunities to participate and benefit from a green and digital world. The initiative recognises that to accelerate progress on the #SDGs in the limited remaining time requires global partnerships and collaboration to reverse current setbacks.
