"Architecture is not just about constructing buildings, but about creating connections – between past and future, between people and nature." (360° Architecture & Michele&Miquel) At 1.866 meters in the Pyrenees, the Wallon Marcadau Refuge has been reimagined—a fusion of tradition and modern timber construction. With no access roads, an earthquake-prone location, and extreme weather conditions, the project was a logistical masterpiece. Precisely prefabricated KLH® – CLT elements were flown in by helicopter and efficiently assembled on-site. The result: a self-sufficient, resilient refuge that seamlessly integrates into the landscape.🌱A place where history and modernity merge in perfect harmony. KLH Massivholz dostarczyło elementy w technologii #CLT, które zostały fachowo wyprodukowane, przygotowane, a teraz HAVI domyka proces transportowy, realizując ostatnie odbiory. 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭, 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐊𝐢𝐫𝐛𝐲 𝐋𝐚𝐰 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 The Michael Kirby Law School at Macquarie University in Sydney sets a benchmark for sustainable construction. Repurposing the former faculty building's concrete foundations and incorporating a bright atrium, it showcases innovative material use. With 930 m³ of KLH® - CLT storing 709 tonnes of CO₂, the project's environmental impact was minimized. Timber's lightweight properties allowed three additional stories atop the existing structure, an impossible feat with conventional concrete. Precision manufacturing enabled rapid assembly by just four installers and two crane operators. 🏆Australian Timber Design Awards Winner - Public Buildings & People's Choice Volume of KLH® – CLT: 4.600 m² / 930 m³ Stored carbon: 709 tonnes (regrowth time in Austria 16 minutes) 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: Hassell 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫: FDC Construction & Fitout 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: TTW 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥- 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: Rubner Ingenieurholzbau 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐲: Paolo Aschieri / Andreas Luzzi Find out more about the project on our Website 👉https://lnkd.in/dKVDnRcH KLH Pacific Pty Ltd

Architecture with Character: Sophie Radich School, Lillestrøm 🍀 The Sophie Radich School in Lillestrøm stands out with its visionary four-leaf clover layout, combining functionality and architectural uniqueness. At its core is a central space featuring an amphitheater staircase, cafeteria, event hall, and music department—forming a dynamic hub for interaction and creative learning. The school’s three teaching wings and a fourth housing a sports hall and Newton Centre are seamlessly connected to the surrounding landscape through transparent, open public areas. The construction utilizes sustainable KLH® - CLT and glulam beams, emphasizing natural aesthetics. Interiors feature exposed timber, spruce panelling, and wood-fiber ceilings, enhancing acoustics, climate regulation, and well-being, while large glass surfaces link indoor spaces to the outdoors for an inspiring educational environment.
