We were delighted to host a topping out ceremony at our Seaview Colonnade site last week, with local Councillors, Connected Coast and partners in attendance. To mark the occasion, Victoria Atkins MP for Louth and Horncastle secured the final panel on the balcony. The visit also involved speeches from attendees and a tour of the new building, offering the chance for visitors to ask any questions about the project. Cllr Martin Foster, Political Lead for the Colonnade at East Lindsey District Council, said: “These state-of-the-art facilities will bring new tourism and income for Sutton on Sea, creating new jobs and opportunities, and providing residents and visitors with a place to view our stunning coastline. “The Colonnade is also pivotal for the Council’s National Portfolio Organisation programme, funded by Arts Council England, providing a centrepiece for arts and culture in East Lindsey. The new building will provide a creative focal point to support events and activities around arts and culture. "I would like to thank contractors GF Tomlinson for hosting this event to mark this milestone on the construction phase.” Victoria Atkins MP said: “The Sutton on Sea Colonnade will be an asset to our community and coastline. This is why, alongside my ELDC and LCC colleagues, I've fought for investment so it could be rebuilt for future generations to use. “I was delighted to attend the Topping Out Ceremony of the new building and it was exciting to hear that it won't be long before the project is complete and open for everyone to enjoy.” Procured through the Pagabo Medium Works framework, the multi-million pound redevelopment will comprise a state-of-the-art pavilion incorporating a sea view café, along with transformative facilities including toilets and new exhibition space. Additional seating areas and recreational space will also be created in the former Pleasure Gardens alongside a large sea view deck, new beach huts and dedicated artisan studio spaces for pop up events and markets.
