Last month, Kru Live were on site with SEEN Group for Simple who took over The Stables in Covent Garden for a weekend of skin-loving self care and fun. The interactive event showcased Simple's expertise in skin barrier care, offering bespoke solutions for every visitor. The stars of the show were the Renude Studio and Facial Analysis stations. Lucky guests received top-notch skin analysis from aestheticians and Renude representatives, followed by tailored facials using Simple's barrier-boosting products. As visitors departed with glowing complexions, they popped into a Superdrug pop up shop for a chance to win goodies in the Power Booth. It was a perfect end to a skin-sational day! It was a privilege not only to be on site at this prestigious British sporting event, but working towards a mission we feel passionate about - sustainability! I've been thinking and thinking about John Sills' talk at MAD//FEST earlier this month. If you've read his book 'The Human Experience' you'll understand, and if not I implore you to - it's not just good for business, but good for humanity! His insights on customer service really resonated with me, sharing nuggets of inspiration like: • Treat customers like your nan - with warmth and genuine care • Do things that would make your mum proud - go the extra mile • Focus on human-to-human interactions - it's not just about transactions Sills emphasises that in our tech-driven world, the 'human' elements of customer experience often get neglected - yet it's these personal touches that can make all the difference. It is, after all, why we do what we do at Kru Live. He shared how strict processes and automation can create organisations where people aren't allowed to act 'human'. It's a trap many businesses fall into, often without realising. Sills' book delves deeper, showing how emotional experiences are just as crucial as functional ones. It's about creating a culture with humanity at its heart - from CEO to front-line staff. This approach isn't just feel-good stuff - it's good business. It builds trust, creates efficiency, and develops a loyal customer base. In a world where AI and automation are becoming increasingly prevalent, Sills' message feels more important than ever. Last week I, like many others in my network, attended MAD//FEST UK at The Old Truman Brewery. What an incredible event! The UK's largest and boldest marketing festival certainly lived up to its name. I loved listening to Louisa O'Connor (Seen Presents) and Cali Christians, (Netflix) telling it how it is on the Female Leaders stage. But the stand out for me was absolutely John Sills, author of "The Human Experience" and managing partner at The Foundation. His real-life examples of customer service had us laughing one moment and tearing up the next. AO's values: "Treat every customer like your gran" and "Do something your mum would be proud of” are concepts I can’t stop thinking about and will be looking to reinforce here at Kru Live. Alongside catching some amazing content, it was also a joy to catch up with industry friends like Clive Mishon and Graham Kemp from Alliance of Independent Agencies; fellow Elevators David Ogiste and Andrew Dougan, and Ali Wallace and Gemma Knight from DNA Recruit. #KruLive #BrandExperiences #EventProfs #EventStaffing #LoveForPeople
