The internal cleanliness of tubes are vital for the working efficiency of certain propulsion systems, including turbochargers. Debris inside a tube from the production process can cause blockages to a system and mean that it works inefficiently or even worse, it could stop working all together. This is why there are higher levels of cleanliness applied to the designs of pipes in certain applications. For example, Turbo Feed Pipes can have internal cleanliness specifications of down to 250 microns for metallic and non-metallic particles. Component features such as banjo fittings, which are commonly used on Turbo Feed Pipes, can restrict the flow of fluid through the tubes. When a part uses banjo fittings we typically see cleanliness requirements of around 400 microns for metallic and non-metallic particles. To achieve these levels of cleanliness, Lander has installed an in-house clean room. This clean environment is where we assemble parts before they are flushed through with mineral oil at pressure to completely clean the internal bore of the tubes. Once they have been flushed, the assemblies are then put through an air decay leak test system before having dust caps applied to the tube ends to prevent contamination during transit to the final customer. #cleanlinessspecification #cleanliness #tube #tubebending #tubes #engineering #manufacturing #turbosystems #turbochargers

Lander are working with several customers on the development of their Hydrogen Fuel Transfer systems We are experienced in producing tube systems that cope with the high pressures that are required to store and transfer hydrogen. To expand the infrastructure for mass use of hydrogen as a fuel source, it is vital to develop efficient ways for moving the gas safely from bulk storage centres to local re-fuelling stations. The need for specialised gas cylinders and the pipelines transferring the hydrogen is where Lander have been able to grow our knowledge and experience. And with the future shift towards alternative fuel propulsion, we are working with our customers on the development of both hydrogen and EV systems for the passenger car, commercial vehicle and off highway sectors. We are happy to announce that our North American plants in Franklin (North Carolina) and Rabun Gap (Georgia) were both left relatively unscathed by Hurricane Helene last week. Given the scenes of devastation that some surrounding areas have suffered we thankful that all of our team are ok and that the facilities are able to remain operational. Rapid prototyping of nylon tubes With our revolutionary CNC style nylon tube bending equipment, we are able to supply nylon tube prototypes much more quickly than using traditional processing methods. Our processing method is more cost effective too as it removes the requirement for costly guide fixtures for each tube. We simply enter the co-ordinates for the part into the machine and off it goes. With the capability to bend nylon tube up to ø20mm, we can supply production representative samples in a matter of days providing bend tooling is available. We assemble the required connectors and fittings, and will leak test parts to ensure that all joints are to specification. Whether the part is for an EV Battery Cooling System or to transfer fuel or oil, we have the experience to support our customers for any application. Our Design team supports our customers in developing products that are both robust and repeatable, whilst our dedicated Product Development Team can help to take those designs from concept to reality. In addition to our cutting edge nylon tube prototype technology, we also have capacity for volume supply of formed nylon tube assemblies using the more traditional oven curing process route.
