The UK aerospace industry is grappling with a slowdown in aircraft deliveries, even as order backlogs reach unprecedented highs. According to the trade body ADS Group Ltd, commercial aircraft deliveries in the first nine months of 2024 have fallen by 7.5% compared to the same period in 2023. Despite a strong third quarter with 295 aircraft deliveries – the highest for any Q3 since the pandemic – ADS notes that the year-to-date figures remain concerning. Embraer has announced a new multi-year contract with LOT Polish Airlines for its Pool Program, providing support for repairable components on the airline’s three recently leased E195-E2s. Under the agreement, the Polish carrier, a major E-Jets operator with 47 Embraer aircraft in its fleet, will have access to Embraer’s component services network. Xen Aviation, a new domestic airline based in Georgetown, Guyana, has purchased its first Britten-Norman BN2T-4S Islander aircraft. Xen Aviation plans to enhance regional connectivity and provide commuter services across Guyana as the BN2T-4S is able to operate from short, unprepared landing strips, making it suitable for reaching remote areas. New airBaltic route likely to appeal to Ukrainian travellers. From November 8th, Latvian national airline airBaltic will operate a new direct regional route connecting Riga with Rzeszów, Poland. The carrier says this new service will significantly enhance travel options for passengers travelling from Ukraine.
