This year, Lidl Hungary continues to shine as the No.1 Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) retailer for the fourth consecutive year, while also being recognized as a TOP Employer for three years running. 👏 Lidl Hungary has achieved significant success in its efforts to create a more sustainable future and make a positive impact on the community. Currently a 5th-semester international business and intercultural studies student, she’s thrilled to gain hands-on experience at one of Europe's top food retailers. ❤️💙💛 "As someone eager for intercultural experience, working in international onboarding aligns perfectly with my studies," Alba shares. From Poland to Germany: Karolina's Journey in Global Employer Branding 🌍🚀 Karolina, Employer Branding Consultant at Lidl International, recently transitioned from Lidl Polska to Lidl International through the Lidl International Job Rotation Program. First learning about the program at the beginning of her career, Karolina set a goal to take part in a job rotation one day. After 6 years at Lidl Poland, where she led various projects—such as the career website update and the preboarding project pilot— Karolina is now excited to contribute her knowledge to international projects. Since April 2024, she has been supporting the international Employer Branding team in Neckarsulm. 🇵🇱➡️🇩🇪 Her time at Lidl International has been full of growth. "The first few months flew by—language courses, onboarding, and immersing myself in a new culture. It has been an intense but enriching experience," she shares. Karolina relocated to Germany with her husband and dog, Rudolf 🐾. They love hiking the picturesque vine-covered hills around Neckarsulm and enjoying the local nature 🌿🍇. Our new #LidlExpats are getting ready to start their international journeys! This October, over 60 colleagues from 19 countries have started their Lidl International Job Rotation. 🌍 These Lidl colleagues will spend 12 to 24 months in a foreign country getting to know new cultures and gaining invaluable experience across all departments like Sales, HR, Logistics, Purchasing, Administration and more. 🙌 We established this program back in 2016 to invest more in our people. The Lidl International Job Rotation was created to strengthen international exchange, knowledge transfer, and expand our colleagues’ skills. Participants gain not only professional expertise but also develop their language abilities supported by language courses, build cross-border networks, and gain a broader perspective on global operations. 🚀 At Lidl, standing still is not an option - we constantly challenge ourselves to evolve, learn, and push beyond our comfort zones. ❤️💛💙 “This program supports personal and professional growth for both young professionals and senior leaders. Inspiring exchange & insights on Personal Branding: Third Social Media Pinsa Night of the companies of Schwarz Gruppe 🍕 In the dynamic world of social media, the exchange of insights and ideas is more important than ever. Last week, around 100 experts and enthusiasts from the companies of Schwarz Group met for the third Social Media Pinsa Night at Restaurant Cäcilie - and it was a great success! 🚀 The event focused on personal presence on LinkedIn. In various keynotes, social media experts such as Kathrin from LinkedIn and Andreia, Jana, Estera, Thilo, 🚀 Stephan from the companies of Schwarz Group gave valuable insights into building a successful LinkedIn presence and the future of corporate influencers. 🤳 Jens inspired with his speach and answered the question of how we create a strong sense of community on social media and which people and content inspire him on LinkedIn. “For me, brand work is like the work of a sculptor, in whose work of art new facets are constantly being added and refined. It's about the personality that makes up a brand and that is actively managed. Personal branding is also a way of making other people aware of the many facets of Lidl and arousing curiosity, not to be confused with self-promotion and self-aggrandizement. People simply trust people even more than companies - that's in our nature. Only through trust can long-term relationships and solidarity - towards us and towards our customers - be created, as we already do today in #teamlidl.” In addition to the valuable insights, there was also plenty of opportunity to network and make new contacts in a relaxed atmosphere with delicious pinsa. Creating attractive content for PARKSIDE Meet Florian, Team Lead PARKSIDE Content at Lidl International. Starting his journey with #teamlidl as a Junior Brand Manager in 2018, Florian and his team are responsible for developing content for PARKSIDE's social media channels and executing campaigns across eight Lidl online shop countries. The role of the PARKSIDE team involves curating engaging content to elevate and emotionalize the PARKSIDE brand experience. Florian's work is a dynamic mix of campaign planning, design, and content creation to engage a diverse audience. He has contributed to the remarkable transformation of PARKSIDE into an independent brand in under two years to successful campaigns and consistent visibility across various channels and countries. “Our PARKSIDE team operates independently, creating campaigns and content that aim to turn DIY enthusiasts into genuine 'PARKSIDER'. As the brand continues to grow internationally, the universal language of DIY will remain our key connecting element across diverse markets and cultures.” ⚒️ Last year PARKSIDE launched a global campaign featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger. With the existing brand slogan "You Got This", the campaign focuses on building a strong connection between the brand and the slogan. The campaign takes a light-hearted approach and aims to inspire individuals to tackle their next project. "Teaming up with Arnold, a multifaceted figure, we want to empower people while humorously showing the key moments of his career." "Embrace the experience and enjoy the ride!" Pepijn, Sales Manager at Lidl España, began his career with #teamlidl as a trainee in 2009 in the Netherlands. After becoming a regional manager at Lidl Nederland, he led several regions and most recently managed a team of 9 area managers. In April, Pepijn took on a new challenge in Murcia, Spain, as part of the Lidl International Job Rotation Program. 🇳🇱🇪🇸✨ "I’ve always wanted to live abroad, and Spain was a dream destination. Even though it’s on the same continent as the Netherlands, the differences in weather, language, and culture are fascinating to experience and reflect on. I’m grateful for this rare opportunity—especially with my family by my side." Pepijn fondly remembers his first days, learning the language and meeting new colleagues. "The introduction program made me feel so welcome, and my colleagues helped with everything. On World Food Day, we celebrate that our Rescue Bag initiative saves tons of food from going to waste every year! 🌱 We know the value of food and the importance of conserving resources – it's our commitment to the planet. That's why we have set ourselves the goal: to reduce food waste as part of our sustainability strategy. We believe every action counts, and our Rescue Bag initiative, launched in 2022, is one such step. What is the Rescue Bag initiative? 🛍️ To prevent food waste, we offer discounted bags filled with up to five kilograms of fruits and vegetables that may not look perfect but are still perfectly good to eat. These products might have minor packaging damage or be slightly irregular in appearance, but they’re as tasty and nutritious as ever. 🥦 By making these products available at a reduced price, we're not only fighting food waste, but also providing more affordable options to our customers. 🌎 This initiative is available in many Lidl countries including Lidl in Germany, Lidl Suomi, Lidl España, Lidl Switzerland, and Lidl Česká republika, and has already made a significant impact. 📊 In the financial year 2023 alone, the Rescue Bag initiative in the Lidl countries Germany, Finland, Spain, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic saved over 33,000 tons of food from going to waste, contributing directly to our sustainability goals and helping to conserve valuable resources. “In Spain, we are fighting intensively against food waste. The Rescue Bag initiative is a matter close to my heart. It has seen fantastic customer responses, and together, we've already made a big difference in saving food." Most recently, we have rolled out our new AI Agent Assist tool in our customer service centers for example across Lidl GB, Lidl España, Lidl France, and Lidl Belgium & Luxemburg! 📞 The AI tool leverages the Pharia model from Aleph Alpha, a leading developer of artificial intelligence in Germany. Agent Assist transcribes and summarizes customer calls in real time, providing our agents with valuable support and insights right at their fingertips. 🚀 As part of Schwarz Gruppe, we are investing in secure and sovereign AI technology through our partnership with Aleph Alpha. This investment will allow Lidl to improve customer experience and optimize processes across the entire value chain, from logistics to customer service. ✅ Not only that, but we are also committed to using AI responsibly, adhering to European data protection standards and our own "AI Codex" to ensure ethical and transparent implementation. “We aim to integrate AI tools to empower #teamlidl.
