About us
London is a unique location as a centre for handling disputes, whether through the courts or by arbitration, mediation, expert determination or negotiation. Parties and their lawyers, speaking many different languages, have historically come to London from all over the world seeking to draw on the depth and breadth of expertise and experience that London offers, supported by the full strength of English law. London International Disputes Week celebrates the unique heritage of English law, dating back to the Magna Carta. We want to draw on that long experience in looking, together with our clients and legal practitioners from all round the world, to the future of dispute resolution, where and how disputes will arise and how London should prepare itself and adapt so it can handle them. We are delighted to welcome colleagues from around the world so we can not only celebrate what London has to offer, but also work together to create an environment for discussions about the future of dispute resolution globally.

The legal services industry plays a central role in the UK’s growing international competitiveness, as acknowledged in the government’s Industrial Strategy announced this week. Under the theme ‘Innovation in Dispute Resolution: Navigating Global Risks’, #LIDW25 on 2 – 6 June will host many discussions on how London’s world-renowned legal market remains a pillar to economic stability and provides commercial certainty to states as well as global and national businesses alike through internationally-recognised courts and arbitral tribunals.
The UK's legal services establish a rock-solid foundation for businesses to thrive. Our legal systems are amongst the world's most supportive for business and investment. English and Welsh law is: 🔹 the law of choice for businesses around the world 🔹 predictable and reduces the likelihood of litigation 🔹 flexible and can adapt quickly to support emerging technologies These elements combine to reinforce the UK's reputation as a stable and attractive environment for both domestic and international businesses. UK legal services and English and Welsh law remain a pillar of our economic strength and global appeal. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/damSNCqa

Cutting-edge innovations across the industry are shaping dispute resolution worldwide, but there is plenty to discuss regarding the risks they are intended to address, as well as the risks resulting from these transformations. Under this theme, delegates from around the world will come together to explore what different jurisdictions and forms of dispute resolution can learn from each other to resolve the challenges of the future.
