Dare to Achieve tackles challenges affecting educational attainment and educational outcomes of children and young people. We provide out of school educational programme combined with recreational activities for children living in care to provide additional support and help them towards achieving higher levels of academic attainment. We provide educational/employment support programme combined with financial literacy activities that will specifically target young people who are not in education, employment or training who are underachieving due to heavy financial/debt burden, lack of skills and lack of information and advice on available opportunities. #lifebrooksinternationaluk #DareToAchieve

Resilient living through sculpting This session provided a safe space for young people to express their creativity through sculpting. We created a unique opportunity to teach a range of tools and techniques that aim to build resilience and confidence. Learning sculpting provided a unique avenue to foster resilience in young minds. At the end of the session, all agreed that clay is a beautiful but challenging medium to work with and requires planning, creativity, patience and persistence. #throwback #ResilientCommunities #lifebrooksinternational #youngpeople

Nourishing resilience: Thriving through choices – resilient living through healthy choices As we navigate these challenging times, teaching young people resilience is crucial. This session tackled a few practical ways to promote healthy living and build resilience including connecting and listening, learning problem solving skills and healthy habits. The youth in attendance were taught that resilience grows through connection and knowledge. They felt more empowered to make positive choices in life and to succeed, which was the goal for this session. Home Sweet Home, new hacks The environment we live in can impact our lives in a negative or positive way. Knowing how to make their spaces feel more like home was welcomed by the youth. This session taught them small, simple changes they could make in their space which would have a lasting impact. They all left inspired and ready to take on some DIY decorations. Throwback to another great session on Resilience for Life Living alone and living independently is scary to many young people. This echoed in the session but some of the fear had subsided by the end. This session taught practical skills like budgeting, cooking and household management, ensuring our young people are prepared for real-world challenges. The session left them feeling more self-confident and resilience. The session also touched on asking for help and the importance of doing so. According to the story, this treehouse is perched atop the tallest tree in the forest and can only be reached by those who dream big and work together. One day, a group of friends—Lila, Sam, and Raj—decide they want to build this legendary treehouse. They’re enthusiastic but realize their idea seems impossible: they have no tools, no building experience, and the tree is incredibly high. But they’re determined to aim higher and not let their challenges stop them. They start by drawing blueprints and making a list of what they need. They borrow tools from neighbors, gather materials, and work hard every day. Their friends and family watch, offering support and advice. Some even come up with creative solutions, like using a ladder made from old rope and wooden planks. As they face obstacles—like a sudden storm that almost destroys their progress or a mix-up where they accidentally build a giant birdhouse instead—they don’t give up.
