How GenAI is Changing the Game for Early-Stage Ventures   In our recent INSIGHTS with François Candelon (Seven2) and Leonid Zhukov, Ph.D (Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Global AI Institute), we explored the evolving role of GenAI in early-stage ventures, uncovering unique insights on how AI can expand team capabilities and enhance leadership.   Interesting learnings from the session:   ⏺ The Real Value Lies in expanding team capabilities, not just improving productivity GenAI's power goes beyond automating repetitive tasks—it augments your team’s abilities, allowing members to tackle challenges they are not trained for. This presents a major opportunity for growth and efficiency in early-stage ventures.   ⏺ Freeing Up Senior Talent for Mentorship For more advanced ventures, GenAI can automate routine work, freeing up senior staff to focus on mentoring juniors and tackling high-level strategic work. However, this requires hiring people with the right mindset—those who are not just skilled, but eager to mentor and help develop talent in an AI-driven workplace.   ⏺ Caution Around Submitting Proprietary and Regulatory Data A major concern in the session was around using GenAI for sensitive proprietary, regulatory, and preclinical data submissions. The discussion highlighted the potential of private large language models (LLMs) and synthetic data to mitigate risks. However, there is still work to be done to ensure that AI models can be trusted for handling confidential life sciences data, particularly when it comes to IP and regulatory filings.   One key takeaway for all of us was the immense value of community in navigating the fast-evolving world of GenAI. Our ability to bring together life science CEOs and founders in a safe space allows for open discussion on which tools to use, when to implement them, and how to manage the associated challenges—an invaluable resource in a rapidly changing landscape.    As of today, we have opened a GenAI space in our LifeScience ORG community for members to confidentially share experiences and insights as we continue to explore the potential of AI.   Thank you to François and Leonid for an insightful discussion that offered us new ways to think about integrating AI into our ventures.
