🌟 The owners of Buckmore Park have unveiled plans to create The Paddock, a new motorsport-themed centre at the much-loved Kent karting circuit.🌟 The investment in a new 20,000ft2 building would be a home for a state-of-the-art simulator room, a restaurant and bar, and viewing terrace overlooking the circuit. It would help meet the growing demand from the public and karting community and sustain Buckmore Park’s future as the UK’s favourite karting circuit. Leonora Martell-Surtees, co-owner of Buckmore Park and daughter of John Surtees, said: “Today’s karting community and general public demand not only a challenging circuit offering an exhilarating racing experience, but also the facilities that create a destination in its own right. The Paddock will provide a further 30 job opportunities in addition to the 50 strong workforce already at the circuit close to the M2 at the top of Blue Bell Hill. 🌟Medway businesses to reach new heights with Ascend centre🌟 Business is set to get a boost in Medway with the completion of the brand new Ascend centre. Situated in the heart of Chatham, on the first floor of the Pentagon Centre, the new coworking space benefits from excellent transport links and has been created as a flexible base for small businesses, entrepreneurs and freelancers. A preview event on Friday 1 November was hosted by Ascend operator Edgility, who were joined by representatives from Medway Council, the designers and those involved in construction of the hub, along with some special guests. 🌟 Confidence returns to the county’s commercial property market – as Kent’s economy grows faster than UK’s🌟 With business confidence higher than last year and the economy looking more positive, the outlook for the property industry is improving, according to the 33rd edition of the annual Kent Property Market Report. The latest figures from Kent County Council show that the county’s economy, (with Growth Value Added) grew by 3.2% in 2023, ahead of the national average of 2.8%. Also, the region’s employment rate for working-age residents has been steadily increasing, rising to 77.5% in 2023, up from 75.8% in 2021, according to the Office for National Statistics. The Kent Property Market Report is produced by Caxtons Property Consultants, Kent County Council and Locate in Kent. It again shows the industrial and distribution sector is expected to be the county’s top-performing property sector. This is helped by leading logistics and warehousing developers making major investments and tackling the under supply of new high-quality space, which had been constrained over the last 10 years. Mark Coxon, Head of Commercial Agency at Caxtons, said: “National crises, economic turmoil and political uncertainty have hampered the property market over the last four years, accelerating change and impacting the sector with predictable and sometimes surprising outcomes.
