It shows we’re walking our talk and leading the way in the adoption of a quieter, more fuel-efficient “next-generation” fleet in the skies ✈️ With the highest proportion of passenger flights operated using these advanced models than any other European airport, almost half of commercial passenger flights departing from London Luton Airport were operated using Airbus NEO or Boeing Max models between March 2024 – February 2025, reducing emissions by up to 20%. This Mother’s Day, we’re championing those "keeping it in the family" at London Luton Airport! Joanna and Larri are one of the many mother-and-child duos who work together at the terminal 🤗✈️ It’s not just Larri that sees Joanna as “Mum” in the airport though. When she started as an Aviation Security Officer, she quickly became known as a motherly figure because she’s always making sure people do the right thing. They’re still calling her Mum now! Since then, Joanna's started working as a Guest Experience Ambassador and she’s passed the Security baton to her son, Larri. He’d been eying up his mum’s Security jacket while studying, and now proudly wears his own as he ensures the safe and smooth transition of passengers. We were delighted to welcome the Civil Aviation Authority for a terminal tour to showcase our continued commitment and investment in maintaining a simple and inclusive environment for all passengers. The visit included a tour of London Luton Airport's new, purpose-built Assisted Travel lounge. The lounge is set to open later this year and features a sensory space, adult changing areas, charging points for wheelchairs, adjustable lighting, flight information screens, and a range of seating options. The CAA also shadowed our latest Acessibility Familiarisation Day, which provides prospective passengers the opportunity to experience the airport enviornment and learn more about the assistance available to them.
