London Stansted Airport welcomed a record-breaking 2.71 million passengers in September. 📈 The most popular sunshine destinations during the month were Palma de Mallorca, Alicante, Malaga, Antalya, and Faro, with Dublin, Istanbul, Edinburgh, Belfast, and Rome the most in-demand short break and city destinations. ✈️ Operational performance remained strong, with 99% of passengers passing through security in 15 minutes or less, and with an average queue time of less than 2 minutes during the main departure peaks. NFL teams touchdown at London Stansted Airport for London Games 🏈 American football teams have used London Stansted once again as their gateway to the UK for the NFL London Games this autumn. The first team to touchdown this year was the New York Jets, ahead of their highly anticipated game against the Minnesota Vikings. The Chicago Bears also touched down at London Stansted Airport ahead of their match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against the Jacksonville Jaguars. As temperatures hit the mid 20's this week, it may seem odd to hear London Stansted Airport has been preparing for winter! ❄️ Our snow team, which is responsible for clearing runways, taxiways and aircraft stands during wintry weather conditions, has been diligently working over the last few weeks to fine-tune its winter operations plan. 🥂 New world-class Emirates lounge lands at London Stansted Airport 🥂 We are delighted to announce that Emirates has opened its doors to a new lounge here at London Stansted, offering one of the best views of the airport. The airline has invested more than £4 million to design a spacious 900-square-metre lounge that can accommodate up to 125 guests, including First and Business Class customers, as well as Emirates Skywards members! ✈️⭐ It also offers customers a short walk for dedicated boarding access to the aircraft, with a short 2–3-minute walk to the Boeing 777 which serves the double-daily route. Busiest ever month rounds off a record-breaking summer at London Stansted Airport. ✈️ The monthly total of 3.06 million passengers in August was an increase of 4.9% on the same month last year, and beat the previous highest ever monthly total set in August 2018. London Stansted Airport broke through the three million passenger barrier for the first time in its history. 💥 The busiest day in London Stansted's history was recorded on 23rd August with more than 103,700 passengers passing through the airport. ✈️ Operational performance remained good, with 99% of passengers passing through security in 15 minutes or less, and with an average queue time of less than 2 minutes 30 seconds. 📈 Between June and August, a total of 8.8 million passengers took advantage of the excellent choice, value and operational efficiency we offer.
