This time last week, we welcomed Charlotte Cane MP to our affordable homes as part of the wider Waterbeach redevelopment. During the visit, we spoke about the need for a long-term hashtag #PlanForHousing and how providers like us can play our part in helping to solve the housing crisis. We showed Charlotte and Cllr Judith Rippeth from South Cambridgeshire District Council around some of the homes we have available and discussed how important affordable housing is both nationally and in this part of Cambridgeshire. To find out more about the visit, including how we've partnered with Urban&Civic to deliver these homes, and to read the thoughts of Nick Worboys, our Director of Growth, Development and Sales, and Charlotte, visit https://lnkd.in/emdFk6zF You can also watch our video from the visit below.

Today is End Digital Poverty Day. Alarmingly, one in seven adults and one in five children in the UK are digitally excluded. Digital access is crucial for education, job opportunities, and affordable utilities. That’s why we’re committed to doing our bit to help end digital poverty. Our Employment and Skills Team operates a device and data gifting scheme, which sees us donate laptops, mobile phones and pre-loaded SIM cards to customers who are most in-need and could use these items to find work or develop their skills. We encourage customers who think they would benefit from this scheme to contact us and we've had some excellent results to date.

    • A dark background has the words end digital poverty day in capital letters in white repeated across five lines. There's an illustrated image of a calendar overlapping this and the digital poverty alliance logo in green in the bottom left hand corner.

We recently completed our 18-home Vasey Fields development in Bassingham, near Lincoln. Thanks to our partnership with Lindum Group, this fully affordable development has been taken from initial plans to reality and we’re proud of the finished product. Here are some recent aerial shots of the site which we wanted to share.

We were delighted to welcome Charlotte Cane MP to Waterbeach on Friday to view the affordable homes we have on site. Charlotte was accompanied by Councillor Judith Rippeth from South Cambridgeshire District Council and they were shown around by our Director of Growth, Development and Sales Nick Worboys and Head of Sales Chris Parkinson. We were selected by master developer Urban&Civic to be the preferred affordable housing provider for the development, which when completed will see 6,500 homes built, as well as five new schools, retail, commercial and green space, and new cycle connections and a sustainable travel hub. We'll share more content from last week's visit over the next few days.

The six-week customer consultation into our proposed merger with Grand Union Housing Group has now closed. We encouraged our customers to let us know their thoughts about the plans via post, telephone or online and we received well over 1,300 responses. We’re now working through this feedback and it’ll be presented to the Boards of each organisation before a decision is made about whether to proceed with the merger.
