Lucas is excited to announce the launch of its own Circularity Material Bank. This innovative scheme is part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and giving back to the community. The Circularity Material Bank is an online platform that has been designed and built in-house to connect our surplus construction materials, tools, and miscellaneous items with charities and individuals. Charities will have access to items free of charge to support their good causes, while individuals and local businesses will benefit from discounted rates. All proceeds from sales will be donated to charitable causes. By launching this initiative, Lucas aims to reduce waste and support charitable organisations simultaneously. The platform will be fully operational by the end of Q1 2025 and will be a significant milestone in our ambitious sustainability and social value targets.

This goal builds upon our longstanding dedication to sustainability, having been a carbon neutral business since 2017. Over the past 18 months, we have made significant strides in our final phases of our planned strategy by restructuring and streamlining our vehicle fleet and transitioning all of our plant and machinery to electric power. Additionally, we have optimised our operational set up, resulting in a 53% reduction in our operational square footage. These milestones demonstrate our unwavering commitment to leading the way towards a net zero future. Lucas is excited to announce that we have secured the decorations contract at 81 Newgate Street, also known as Panorama St Paul’s, for Mace Group. This project involves transforming the former BT Headquarters, an outdated office building from the 1980s, into a sustainable, mixed-use space. Our scope of work includes decorating four cores over 16 storeys (including two basements), painting walls, soffits, and joinery throughout. Additionally, we will handle all back-of-house finishes in the two-level basement and treat the metalwork throughout the building’s staircores and risers. The client for this development is Orion Capital Managers, with Pella Real Estate Managers serving as the development manager and Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) as the architect.
