THE POINT by Lucid Creates Brand new stage & show design for Boardmasters Festival 2024 Inspired by the organic beauty of the natural world it inhabits, THE POINT compliments the landscape it is placed within. As the sun begins to fall, a jaw-dropping backdrop for a surreal & magical experience looking out over the cliffside onto the Atlantic Ocean takes hold, the set purposefully designed to allow for a clear, uninterrupted view out onto the horizon.   2000 individual wooden panels span & line the entirety of the set, each panel interspersed with over 800 metres of intricate, fully programmable LED bars, casting an enchanting glow which dances through the stage, whilst the other-worldly lighting display casts spells of euphoric, ethereal wonder over and through the crowd. As we come down from the weekend we'd like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who made it possible. We unveiled our latest stage designs 'Installation' & 'Monument' for the first ever High Lights music festival, nestled amongst the trees and enveloped by nature in East London's Barking Park, and it was magic. Its not often people put their trust in you as the team from Percolate did with us on this one. Fred Letts & Simon Denby's dedication to delivering a wholly new experience for artists and audiences alike is admirable and is of course, something we are fully onboard with. An immense amount of work from everyone involved went into making this show possible and the result was unforgettable - we are overjoyed at how perfectly every tiny detail came together to create such a special show and we are humbled by overwhelmingly positive feedback from those who attended. High Lights is the culmination of almost 2 years of research and development in pursuit of a single minded vision; to marry London’s industrial, warehouse music culture with an open air, natural setting. Experimenting and collaborating with boundary pushing creatives in pursuit of an elevation of the dance floor experience in a way that has never been attempted before, presenting a truly unique space, married with cutting edge musical talent. Friday saw heavy hitters Rival Consoles, Actress, Calibre, Logic1000, Ross From Friends take to the stage with Max Cooper closing the ‘Installation’ stage with an unforgettable set. Electronic music legend Carl Cox headlined on the Saturday and Dan Shake took to the 'Monument' stage, and Enzo Siragusa's Fuse Open Air party took over the entire festival on the Sunday with high-energy sets from Enzo, Chris Stussy, Dr Banana, Laidlaw and many many more. HIGH LIGHTS MAIN STAGE / INSTALLATION 60m x 8m x 6m We are so excited to finally share our latest stage design for High Lights 2024. The installation will act as the main stage and arena for the first edition of the design conscious electronic music festival. This ambitious creative vision comes from London based promoters Percolate Music, High Lights will merge music, design and architecture in an impressive blend of artforms that will entrance party-goers across the 3 day event which will take place from 31st May to the 2nd June in Barking Park. Distinctive, geometric shapes span into thoughtfully considered proportions and dimensions which will provide a sense of weight, permanence and surrealism as the ‘concrete blocks’ float, weightlessly in mid-air above the audience. Experimenting with linearity & the negative space, these elements come together to produce an unusual, graphic form. Shafts of sunlight will beam down through the overhead installation into the crowd, working their way through the canopy of trees above, adding a poetic gesture, almost cathedral-like, to the imposing, brutalist structure. At night, sunlight will be swapped out for an arsenal of lighting, video and LED as darkness falls and the visual display comes into its own. Using light, depth, form and shadow to create a visual playground placed above the 7,000 revellers. Its scale and brutality in stark contrast to the low tree line it is tightly housed within, this 60m long, floating concrete object defies spatial perception, manipulating scale which in turn emphasises its form and (omni)presence.
