Did you know that before 2022 there had never been an all-female build team for a main stage at a Glastonbury festival? In 2022, Imagineerium proposed a groundbreaking all-female design and build team for The Common - something which had never been done before and was seriously disruptive within the events industry, not to mention an incredible project for us to be part of. The Totem stage was inspired by tribal Central American culture and was designed to represent four goddesses, a concept which was created by The Common’s Art Director, and something which felt particularly poignant for the all-female team behind it. The stage was then designed, built and managed by an amazing team of women who went on to create a truly inspiring team in the festival world. One of the key outcomes of the project was the empowerment this gave our team. Many said they found themselves volunteering for tasks which they'd never normally consider in a mixed crew, with typically stronger men. They fast realised that finding the right tool instead of strength and force, and not worrying about their own physical strength in a female team, meant they could take on tasks they’d previously shied away from, and found solutions in a way that was brand new for them, and gave them the confidence boost to put themselves forward in the future. As a female-led business this is something we're huge advocates of: seeing women grow and develop in their roles, empowering them to further themselves in the future, inspiring others to do the same. To date, it's been one of our proudest accomplishments and being able to celebrate women in our industry in such a groundbreaking way continues to feel truly special. Speaking about the project, founder of The Common Steve Bedlam said: "After working with Natasha at Boomtown festival, I was keen to have her and her team working with us at The Common, Glastonbury. The idea of having all female design and build team came from Natasha and we were all for it. We then made the whole venue / artist management team all female too. Natasha and the team absolutely smashed the design and build of the venue." #GlastonburyFestival #FestivalDesign #StageDesign

What a BRILLIANT 🌟 first night of Light is Coming! Light, music and dancing transformed Snow Hill Square yesterday as people came down to be dazzled by Our Beating Heart, a mesmerising mirrorball installation covered by 11,000 mirror tiles. It was great to see everyone stop, take a moment to soak in the magic, take a selfie, and show off their dance moves! You can visit Our Beating Heart until Saturday, and join tomorrow 6.30-10.30 pm as we give it a sendoff to remember with a big (silent) disco finish - don't forget your dancing shoes! #lovebirmingham #ukspf Colmore BID Alex Nicholson-Evans Photos by Verity Milligan

  • ✨Light is coming✨ After working with light in a more intentional way over the past year, we are beyond excited to bring a brilliant installation to #Birmingham, in partnership with Colmore BID and City Curator Alex Nicholson-Evans! Our Beating Heart, a mesmerising mirror ball installation, will be visiting Snow Hill Square between 21 - 23 March, showing the city and its people some love! Dancing lights will be conjured by this heart-shaped mirror ball; the installation will reflect dazzling natural light during the day, and - as the sun sets - transform the square with a wash of colour and swirling reflections from 6:30-10:30pm. Show us your best moves on Saturday 23 March, during the Love Train Silent Disco, a unique chance to come together and dance outside Snow Hill Station 💓🎶 We can't wait to see Snow Hill transformed by this gorgeous piece - see you there?! https://lnkd.in/ekc8_WDu #WestMidlands #BirminghamEvents #LightInstallation #SilentDisco
