Manchester Airports Group is the largest UK airport operator for Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands Airports.
About us
Manchester Airports Group (MAG) is the UK’s largest airports group. Collectively, MAG owns and operates three UK airports – Manchester, London Stansted, and East Midlands – alongside digital travel services business, CAVU. Last year 54m passengers flew through our airports, and we contributed more than £8bn to the UK economy. MAG directly employs 7,000 people and supports more than 40,000 jobs across the supply chain. We understand airports and air travel better than anyone. Our impact spans the length of the UK, with around 70% of the population living within a two-hour journey of a MAG airport. By working with a wide range of airlines to forge long-term partnerships that maximise the choice and value available to passengers, we have grown a large route network that connects people and businesses to the globe. Looking ahead, we are ambitious and focused on making the future of travel better. We are investing in our airports to launch new routes, and give our passengers the best experience. In CAVU, we are using MAG’s decades of aviation experience and industry-leading consumer insights to revolutionise airport travel. And, running through everything we do, we are working confidently towards a sustainable future and achieving net zero for aviation by 2050.

The Council will bring together Government and travel industry representatives, with the aim of growing the UK's inbound tourism sector, particularly focusing on regions outside of London. Mr O'Toole said: “Aviation plays a fundamental role in facilitating tourism, giving millions of people access to all the UK has to offer. MAG (Airports Group) welcomes the publication of the Centre for Cities ‘Cities Outlook 2025’ Report. It concludes that UK cities with more businesses exporting successfully have a better overall economic performance. It calls on the Government’s new Industrial Strategy and Local Growth Plans to focus on driving export growth, especially in high value service industries. Separate research conducted by WPI Economics on behalf of MAG also concluded that the aviation industry is key to the UK fulfilling its potential as a ‘services superpower’. It found that 10 of the country’s largest service industries - which are forecast to contribute £10.6bn to the economy - are heavily reliant on global connectivity. To support its vision for economic growth, the Government’s Industrial Strategy should also identify the key enablers of export success – especially aviation. MAG CEO, Ken O'Toole, said: "We need the right policy support to deliver the connectivity these globally-ambitious firms crave, while also hitting our shared net zero target.” Read the full piece here: https://bit.ly/4hr5VJt
