Join the MSA committee for a building tour and talk of Havelock. The scheme will be presented by Associate Director at OMI Architects, Philip Etchells Date: Thursday 10th April Time: 5:45pm Location: 70 Great Bridgewater Street, Manchester, M1 5ES Tickets: Eventbrite Havelock is the first full building retrofit project in the North of England to have been certified as BREEAM Outstanding upon completion. Achieving this certification is a remarkable achievement and will ensure resource efficiency and lower maintenance and energy costs over the building’s lifespan. The deep retrofit strategy, included the installation of an entirely new façade system, developed as the optimum solution through the use of a whole-life carbon option appraisal, ensuring that, through the utilisation of the existing structure, the project retained 2,000 CO2e of embodied carbon, the equivalent of planting 10,250 trees. It has also received a NABERS 5 star rating and has been used in the UK Green Building Council document ‘Building the Case for Net Zero : Retrofitting Office Buildings’. OMI is one of the leading architecture practices in the North West of England. The team of architects are all based in a RIBA Award-winning conversion of a Victorian swimming pool, where they have created a number of studios for the creative industries. OMI’s work has been recognised with a series of awards for design excellence including 13 national and regional RIBA Awards. They are known for a broad range of work including museums and galleries, offices, churches, education, residential, hotels, leisure, community and public buildings, many of which are within sensitive historic settings. Come join the MSA & OMI team for an evening of building tours, talk, networking and drinks… Tickets: https://lnkd.in/emdDmrMd Jenny Etheridge | Paul Iddon | RIBA North West
