The Liverpool- and London-based studio was established in 2017 with the ambition of creating characterful public-facing work. Graham has overseen significant cultural and public-facing projects including Bags at the V&A, the Offbeat Sari at the Design Museum, and the transformation of Pool Meadow in Coventry. His current work includes lifting the roof off Stretford Mall to create a mixed-use outdoor town centre and a major exhibition on the social and political power of gardening at the British Library. It was a huge privilege to be invited to speak to the Manchester Society of Architects’ members last Thursday, discussing how Collective Architecture’s Participatory and Sustainability approach are woven through our practise. Thanks to Tom Partridge and Jenny Etheridge and the MSA team for hosting me and to the engaged audience for your questions and lively discussions in the pub afterwards. #Participation #Sustainability #Retrofit

I'm really looking forward to speaking at the Manchester Society of Architects event tomorrow and sharing Collective Architecture's sustainability journey, the participative social engagement work we have been shaping over the years and some exciting retrofit and adaptive re-use projects we are working on. Hope to see you there!
REMINDER: TOMORROW! We are delighted to announce the first guests of our 2025 lecture series… Collective Architecture is a Glasgow-based Architectural studio. Established to pursue themes of participation and sustainability in architecture, their output is highly varied, ranging from intimate community installations to large scale urban regeneration. Over the past 26 years they have successfully delivered a series of important projects spread across the UK, working both locally and internationally with private and public clients. Unlike most traditional architectural practices, Collective Architecture is owned by an employee run trust established to reward and further involve staff in practice development. Their belief is that ownership by all brings care and commitment to every aspect of their work. This is perhaps why they were recognised as the AJ Practice of the Year in 2018. Join us as we welcome James York to hear more about their projects, practice and ethos. Date: Thursday 16th Jan 2025 Time: 5:45pm Location: BDP, Ducie Street Tickets: £8+VAT https://buff.ly/3DixSVk Jenny Etheridge | Paul Iddon | RIBA North West
