Our recent research with Imperial College London found that 80% of men were triggered to start TRT due to problems in their personal relationships or intimacy. In addition, 1 in 4 men wait over five years before getting help for their low testosterone symptoms. Once men begin treatment with MANUAL, the results speak for themselves: 86% of men found it to be very effective for their symptoms, seeing improvements in their mood, confidence, and overall quality of life. 81% also reported that their doctors fully addressed their issues. This is just the beginning of our journey to improve men’s health. Stay tuned for new studies and more insights as we work to transform how low testosterone is diagnosed and treated. We just wrapped up an amazing few days at the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine (BSLM) 2024 Conference in Newcastle, where we presented our research in collaboration with Imperial College London. Our work focused on the significant barriers to diagnosing and treating low testosterone, as well as patient experiences with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). Our findings revealed that 49% are likely to suffer from low testosterone, yet only 5% receive a formal diagnosis, Many continue living with untreated symptoms, unaware of the underlying cause. Older men are particularly at risk, yet they are less likely to recognise their symptoms, leading to further delays in treatment. At MANUAL, we are on a mission to change this by improving access to diagnosis and treatment, empowering men to lead healthier and more fulfilling lives. 🚀 Thank you to everyone who stopped by, especially our friends at BSLM. We’re excited for what’s next! #BSLM2024 #LifestyleMedicine #TRT #ManualAtBSLM austen el-osta Benedict Hayhoe Dr Hans Johnson MBChB MRes Dr Alex Vass Aos Alaa David Huang Vivian Liu

👩🎓 Our retrospective study evaluated 4375 patients treated with GLP-1 agonists (WeGovy), or dual GLP-1 and GIP agonists (Mounjaro) alongside our digital behavioural change programme. 💫 Results Patients who participated and were engaged with the programme had 54% more weight loss than on medication alone after 4 months of treatment. 🚀 What's next? Our full study will be published in a peer-reviewed journal later this year, and we will be launching new obesity research studies in the Autumn in collaboration with Imperial College London. 👉 Reminder - Our Low Testosterone research abstracts have been accepted to the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine Conference and we will be presenting them in September. Come and meet us there. https://lnkd.in/eGnzmTH9 👨🔬 Follow us for more science & insights.

MANUAL conducted a retrospective cohort study reviewing 2746 men with testosterone deficiency (TD). We explored why men come to us for help and the effectiveness of our treatments. 💡 What did we learn 🔬 - Fatigue & change in sex drive (libido) 🍆 are the two most common reasons for men to test themselves for low testosterone. Men who were found to have low testosterone were typically started on topical (Testogel) or injectable (Cypionate) forms of testosterone replacement therapy. 🧠 Testosterone replacement therapy was found to be highly effective 🏃♂️ - 97% of patients responded well to testosterone therapy and saw a doubling of their testosterone levels as soon as their 2nd month on treatment. Patients also received questionnaires and reported a 91% increase in their quality of life. The most notable changes were a 168% improvement in energy levels, a 166% improvement in libido levels, and an 80% improvement in erection strength. 83% of patients reported feeling happier after 6 months of treatment. 🚀 What's next? 📊 - The role of testosterone replacement in healthy ageing is an emerging field, and these results show the life-changing effects of treatment. Many men may unknowingly be suffering and missing out on good years of life. There isn't enough research in the space of men's health and MANUAL is on a mission to change this. Read the full study report here: https://lnkd.in/eyrvqAih 👉 Research abstracts will be presented at the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine Conference later this year. 👨🔬 Follow us for more science & insights.

Approximately 25% of men over the age of 40 experience symptoms of low testosterone. Low testosterone significantly impacts overall health & quality of life, and this field has historically been overlooked and under researched.   That's why Imperial's Self-Care Academic Research Unit (SCARU) and MANUAL have set out to fix this with a new study that seeks to capture people’s perspectives about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
