Last week, as part of our DEFRA project High-Speed Drone Constellations for Real-Time Monitoring of Marine Ecosystems, we conducted a demonstration of how far our systems have come. This marks a major milestone on our path to deploying large-scale drone constellations for massive-area marine monitoring (Strategic ISR). By prioritizing area coverage in square kilometers per hour over traditional aircraft endurance metrics, we've developed a system that significantly enhances the efficiency of marine monitoring operations. Utilizing multiple small, high-speed aircraft, we're able to cover large areas swiftly, providing real-time data with just 60-second delays—compared to the typical 6-hour wait for satellite imagery. During our recent demonstration, despite challenging weather conditions with winds reaching up to 35 knots, our MRB5 aircraft performed reliably, capturing over 15,000 images per hour. This validated our ability to operate effectively even in adverse conditions. On top of this, our system delivers a lower cost per square kilometer than satellite monitoring while offering higher ground sample distance (GSD). Looking ahead, we're developing Project DronePort, a containerized launch and recovery system. This next step will enable fully autonomous, long-term deployment of up to three aircraft, further enhancing large-scale, real-time monitoring capabilities at reduced costs. We extend our gratitude to DEFRA and Innovate UK for their support, to our external partners who contributed to the project's success, and to our dedicated team for their hard work. Protecting marine ecosystems is essential, and we're committed to advancing the tools necessary for effective monitoring.

A thoroughly fascinating Friday afternoon down at Penlee point on the Rame peninsula as a guest of Marble for their BVLOS trials and demonstration as part of their DEFRA / Innovate UK funded project. Both the team and platform performed remarkably well in challenging conditions. Congratulations & thank you for having us. I loved the use of Queen Adelaide's Grotto as a viewing platform and shelter It was great to be able to show the team what the Eddystone (a key feature in their test environment) looks like on a calm sunrise from a recent paddle out to the lighthouse.

Fantastic demo from MARBLE AEROSPACE LIMITED last Friday in extremely challenging conditions! Great to see the progress made during their Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and Innovate UK funded biodiversity monitoring project. The speed at which they iterate technical improvements on their airframe, software and sensors is truly impressive. Also great to see hear about their commercialisation and exploitation work, exciting things ahead! #defra #bvlos #drone

The team is doing some practice flights, for the demonstration next week on Friday (18th). Not only will we be flying with a completely new airframe design we have never shown publicly before conducting multi-aircraft BVLOS teamed operations, but at the demonstration we will even be showing some of our next developments! This demonstration concludes a project we have been doing for Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs under Innovate UK focused on monitoring human pressure on marine ecosystems. P.S. We've had a couple last minute cancellations, so we're opening up the event. If you'd like to come sign up with this link https://lu.ma/lv8757um and we'll try to fit you in.

The way Tesla approached innovation in the car industry was crucial to their success. Taking the base fundamentals and building from there. They didn't make some leap in battery tech. They didn't make some leap in electric motors. They took the fundamentals and really understoof them. With the drone industry having old traditional military drones like the predator and then the current transformation for wider adoption still being in it's very early stages, there's a lot we can learn from how Tesla approached the electric car. #TeslaInnovation #ElectricVehicleRevolution #AutomotiveTransformation #FutureOfCars #InnovativeDesign #GameChanger #ChallengingConventions #LeadingTheIndustry #EfficiencyMatters #AutomotiveInnovation

I take a lot of meetings in person with running the commercial side of Marble. I usually have a bunch of "merch" with me just incase, be it pins, brochures, "trading cards", etc. Most recently I even have a scale model of the aircraft like you get when you buy a jet. The thing that has by far gotten the most exciting positive reaction, when people see it, though have been our mission patches. For each larger deployment we now make mission patches. Each person involved in a mission gets them, plus the tail of the aircraft has a small mission seal on its tail for each mission it has been involved with. On the pic below is a photo of our mission patch for our operations we're doing for Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs under Innovate UK. P.S. We'll be doing an invite only demonstration second half of October in Plymouth tied to this. If you're keen on seeing our aircraft operating hit me up, still have a handful of invites left.

Most drones still have a gimbal on them. This is useful for only one very specific scenario. Localized inspection of a single target. You lose complete situational awarness. This is why we retired the MRB5 variant and now use an array of EO sensors to give a better, more complete image. And if you want a gimbal, well we have a virtual one letting you focus on a single target without completely losing your situational awarness. #DroneInnovation #360Imaging #SeaMonitoring #AdvancedTechnology #DataCollection #DroneSensor #Efficiency #Revolutionary #MonitoringSolution #TechnologicalAdvancement

Depiste all the innovation in the space, majority of drones still fall under two categories. Large drones that need runways and other things with major logistical complexity. On the other end are mostly small quads that still heavily rely on consumer, or consumer like components. Question is, what is gonna happen in the long term? What do you think is the direction we should head in? #DroneTechnology #AerospaceInnovation #HighSpeedDrones #VerticalTakeoff #FutureOfFlight #Drones #AerialSurveying #AviationAdvancements #TechInnovation #DroneDesign
