We’ve been running pubs and brewing beer in one form or another for more than 185 years – a heritage that we’re incredibly proud of! Today we operate more than 1,400 pubs, bars and hotels.     Earlier this week we were delighted to welcome shareholders, analysts, and new potential investors to our 2024 Capital Markets Day. It was great to see so many attendees in-person as we presented our updated growth strategy and financial targets as we enter a new chapter as a pure play hospitality business.   Our strategy centres on creating a high margin, highly cash generative local pub company based on differentiated formats and a brand portfolio that is naturally balanced to appeal across a range of consumer segments.     💥NATIONAL INCLUSION WEEK DAY SEVEN: MEN’S NETWORK💥 Today’s the last day of National Inclusion Week! We hope you’ve enjoyed learning about inclusion at Marston’s. So, to wrap things up, let’s find out about our Men’s network. Mental health matters – and when it comes to men’s mental health, let’s break the stigma and make an impact! 🧠 The Men’s Network brings men and allies together in a safe and supportive environment to create positive change. The Burnt Chef Project is a charity which advocates for mental health support and education for the worldwide hospitality trade. We’ve partnered with them for a number of years, raising £40,000 for them last year. 👟 What’s more, our partnership with them informs our Inclusion Networks, helping us to develop the support we offer our people, support our goals of make a positive impact and prioritise mental health for everyone. As part of this, our people have been completing the ‘Marston’s Mile’ a fundraising and awareness initiative in support of the Burnt Chef Project. All September long, we’ve been walking one mile (or more!) every single day.     💥NATIONAL INCLUSION WEEK DAY SIX: SOCIAL NETWORK💥 Our vibrant Social Network is a dedicated group of people who organise and host fundraising events at our Head Office, bringing people together to celebrate inclusion and raise awareness and funds for Marston’s Charitable Foundation. 🥳 We're incredibly proud to share that these events have raised an impressive £10,000 this financial year! This is donated to our Charitable Foundation who use the money to support charitable organisations close to the hearts of our pubs, our teams, and their communities. ❤️ Our charitable impact this past year includes: 🤝 The Big Spring Giveaway, where we donated £500 each to 10 charities, including supporting the training and care of Ozzy the Sensory Dog at a local school, and supporting Dancing With Dementia. 🤝 Brodie’s Fund, where we contributed £4,500 to life-saving allergy treatment for the granddaughter of our Manager at The Wirral One Hundred. 🤝 Defibrillator funding - we've topped up fundraising for defibrillators in three of our pubs and aim to contribute the final £250 for any pub that needs it. We’re looking forward to making even more of an impact for charity as our social calendar continues! It was a powerful night of recognition and inspiration, highlighting the exceptional contributions of our female co-workers across the Pub Support Centre and Pub teams. 🏆✨ A huge congrats to our winners: Unsung Hero: Elysha Breden - Openings Trainer Inspirational Woman of the Year: Sarah-Jayne McCormack - Head of EPOS Systems & Projects Woman of Courage: Anita Dass - Senior People Operations Manager The Nurturing Others Award: Vicky Gaunt - Head of Legal Services Outstanding Team Member: Elizabeth Giddings - Assistant Manager, Fields at Aylesford Our Women's Network actively works to create a more inclusive and supportive workplace.     💥 NATIONAL INCLUSION WEEK DAY TWO: REACH NETWORK 💥 Our REACH inclusion network stands for Race, Equality and Cultural Heritage, and is committed to celebrating and supporting the diverse cultural heritage of our people. We're creating a space where everyone feels heard, valued, and empowered to share their unique stories. 📖 ❤️ From Chinese New Year to Black History Month, we've celebrated a variety of cultural events. And we're proud to be a signatory of BITC’s Race at Work Charter, promising to break down any barriers that people from ethnic minority groups might face. Our REACH network will help us do this right! 🤝 That's where the Care to Share campaign comes in, led by our REACH network. By collecting diversity data (about disabilities, health conditions, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion and beliefs) from our people, we can measure and improve our diversity and inclusion.
