📣 What a transformation!!!📣 We’re delighted to share that The Golden Hind pub in Ipswich has been transformed by an incredible £190k investment 🤩 Publicans Darren and Ryan have been at the helm since 2019, and collaborated with Punch Property Manager, Duncan Baker, designers Concept Design and Mill Construction to revitalise their pub’s indoor and outdoor spaces to strengthen its position in the community and bring their plans to life🍻 The transformation has received rave reviews amongst guests and the community, who are proud of their local. Ryan told us: “We know that we’ve built a trusted relationship with the community, where our guests can be honest with what works and what doesn’t. “The community has a huge input in what we do, even down to the food we serve, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without them. What we’ve achieved is because of their continued loyalty and decision to let us be a part of their memories and experiences.” You can read more about the Golden Hind’s transformation, and Darren and Ryan’s ambitions for this year, as well as other investments, here 👉🏻 https://lnkd.in/evAKdRmQ

  • 🍍🎉 Exciting Times at Punch HQ! 🎉🍍 We're thrilled to celebrate our latest cohort of MP Designates who have spent the past three days diving into our inspiring leadership course! 🌟 15 passionate pub people, handpicked by existing MPs who share our passion for developing the next wave of talent in our wonderful industry, and believe in their potential to run successful pub businesses in the future. With Punch, they're on a tailored journey, moving at their own pace while continuing to work 💥 Our course kicked off with a full day dedicated to people - because at Punch, we believe in thriving together! We shared the Punch story and discussed our purpose, aims, and the values that drive us. The team reflected on their own purposes, exploring what motivates them each day, while discussing the importance of building a strong culture in their pubs and the approaches they may take when leading change and building teams, emphasising the importance of taking people on this journey. Day two was all about the numbers - making money matters! We equipped our cohort with the tools for successful business ownership and understanding the commercial landscape. 💰 Then came day three, focused on food! 😋 Our amazing food team welcomed everyone into the development kitchen, cooking up a storm and covering the essentials of driving food sales and delivery. These days have been filled with fun, connection, and the opportunity to grow a supportive network. Huge thanks go to the Punch team who helped make this happen 🍍 We’re so excited to continue this journey with this incredible team as they look forward to graduating into their own pub businesses. Together, we’re not just learning; we’re inspiring those moments that will shape the future of our people and our pubs. This #InternationalWomensDay, the theme is #Accelerateaction - inspiring and igniting a powerful force behind progress. But where do we begin? Although women comprise 52% of the hospitality workforce, only 30% hold leadership positions. Yet, there are hopeful signs that we are making significant strides. How do we know? Since 2019, the number of women in leadership roles has increased, moving from one woman for every ten men to one woman for every seven men. Additionally, women's presence on the podium at hotel investment conferences has grown from 16% in 2017 to 24% in 2023. But accelerating action means we cannot rest on our laurels. Progress demands collaboration, shared lived experiences, authenticity, a relentless desire for progress, and support from our incredible male allies, whom we must also support. That's why today, we want to celebrate the amazing women protagonists at Punch: 🍍Becky Davies: Thank you for being bold enough to share your personal lived experience of menopause on a live business update, spurring us on our 'menovist' journey. We have hosted three industry-leading interactive events about menopause and women's wellbeing with incredible drivers of change like Helen Tomlinson. Thank you to the progressive Women's Wellbeing Team in Push the Pineapple. 🍍Rachel Overton-Hope, Anna Russell, Rachel Woloczkow and Dawn Cullen for delivering the everyday brilliantly with our Business Support team. 🍍Donna Gracey, Samantha Andrewartha, Caroline Wallace and Joanna Lake for your sterling legal support. 🍍Caroline Southwell, Danielle Muzongondi, and Sophie Farrell: Thank you for sharing positive stories from the incredible pubs we partner with and supporting us in times of crisis. 🍍Laura Cavendish: Thank you for heading up our people. We need more women in the Exec! 🍍Susan Nash, Catherine Waltham, Kylie McCormick, and the incredibly Talented Digital and Creative team: Thank you for your creative wizardry. 🍍Katy Miller (Nee Storry), Sophie May, Sophie Cox, Faye Eccleshall, Helen Taylor, Louise Fleming, Georgina Mullineux, Helen W., Lynsie Dorrell, Tracey Bell, Tracey Green and Julie Rudge for your insights, marketing, furthering our learning and development, supporting our people and delighting guests. 🍍Danielle Boothroyd, Louise Gallant, Sally Young, Georgia Miles, Donna Murray, Sarah Bithell - seeking our five-star publicans and MPs. 🍍Sarah Edmunds, Jannine Leadbetter, Mandy Southall and our operations teams - ensuring we offer five-star partnerships. 🍍Jessica Nicklin MSc, BA(Hons) and Jess Ford - our sustainability champions. 🍍Aislinn McDonnell: We haven't forgotten you, for inspiring our Push the Pineapple people movement and Beth Mannion (nee Evetts) for taking over as coach. 🍍Natasha Milinkovic, Margaret Barrett and Linda Kennedy and our Incredible Property team: Thank you for continually investing in and refining our estate. To all women in #Punch and the #hospitalityindustry: Let's #accelerateaction together!

  • What an incredible Planet Peach Sustainability Summit this week! Congratulations to Peter Martin and Mark StrettonFleet Street, Peach 20/20, Nutritics, and the Zero Carbon Forum for bringing this to life. 🌍   Witnessing industry leaders passionately debating and sharing best practices in sustainable hospitality was inspiring.   Collaboration and storytelling are at the heart of driving significant change, so events like #PlanetPeach are essential. As our CEO, Andy Spencer aptly put it - focusing on sustainability isn't just the right thing to do; it makes good business sense. Not only that, it aligns with what the hospitality industry and its guests genuinely value: 🌍64% of guests will choose a venue based on its sustainability efforts. 🌍54% of pubs and restaurants are committed to sustainable practices. 🌍Storm Darragh on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, led to an 11% year-over-year drop in sales in the UK. 🌍Storm Eowyn on Friday, January 24th, 2025, resulted in a 22% year-over-year drop in sales in the UK. 🌍91% of the hospitality workforce considers a sustainable lifestyle fundamental to their well-being. 🌍43% of the hospitality workforce would consider resigning over poor sustainability practices. These numbers speak volumes about the growing importance of sustainability in our industry. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful impact and create a more sustainable future. Let's keep the momentum going!   Thank you to an incredible panel for an enlightening day. • Today, we celebrate the PubAid Pub Heroes, the backbone of our communities and the heartbeat of our towns and cities across the UK!   We are incredibly proud that Ursula and Graham Cowie from the Yacht in Pensarn could attend the ceremony last night at the House of Commons as Community Fundraising Hero finalists for Wales. They may not have won this time, but what a lovely way for Ursula to celebrate her big birthday!   We're also in awe of Keris and Lee at the Pig and Whistle, winning the PubAid Community Sport Hero Award (England) for their outstanding commitment to their community and grassroots sports.   Why? Keris and Lee have run the Pig and Whistle for over 12 years, bringing their passion for sport from their South African roots to the heart of Wandsworth. They have been instrumental in helping local teams grow and achieve their goals to the degree that sport has become a core part of their business plan, driving both community development and financial success.   Their incredible team: ⭐Sponsors The Capital Nuns ladies' football team ⭐Supports the Wilddog Rugby and Beach Rugby teams ⭐Donates money from sales on their children's menu to their growing Training Camp, ages 5-13 ⭐Invests in warmup kits and tracksuits for Earlsfield FC ⭐Sponsors an individual player in the Streatham RedHawks Ice Hockey Team ⭐Sponsors the Pig and Whistle TAG Rugby League ⭐Are in talks to sponsor the South African TagBoks rugby team If ever you need evidence of the incredible difference pubs make to communities, look at the PubAid Pub Heroes. • 🤩 A Father and Daughter Journey 🤩 The beloved Norton Tavern pub has reopened under the dynamic management of Amy and Mick Harding! 🍻 Their wealth of experience and deep community ties bring a fresh look and vibrant energy to this fantastic village pub. Amy, a familiar and friendly face, has been part of the Norton Tavern family for nine years and is thrilled to continue building strong connections with the community now she’s taken the helm. Meanwhile, her father, Mick, has exciting plans to enhance its beer garden to give it a family-friendly feel 🌺🥰 Amy shared: “Our priority when moving into the pub was to keep the spirit of the community alive here at the Norton Tavern. We treat our regulars like our extended family, so much so that we know, to the minute, when one of our guests will be in the pub, and you can guarantee they’ve got their favourite drink sitting waiting for them.” We’re inspired by Amy and Mick’s journey and excited to see their plans come to life this year. You can read more about their story here 👉🏻 https://lnkd.in/eHHR_BWT #PunchPubs #WeLovePubs #InspiringThoseMoments

🌟 Proud of Our Publicans: A Darts Marathon for a Great Cause! 🌟 We couldn't be prouder of the Publicans running Punch pubs! This March, the Beeswing pub in East Cowton is hosting a fantastic charity event with some darts giants. Since 2013, award-winning publican Beth Robinson has been a dedicated fundraiser for local and national charities. Her leadership has earned the Beeswing and herself national recognition from PubAid and Punch Pubs & Co. Beth, one of our Pub Heroes dedicated to protecting our three p's (Pubs, People and the Planet), seized the opportunity when she learned about Macmillan's plan to host a male-focused event. Within days, she organised a 12-hour darts marathon and secured three high-profile darts stars (thanks Sky!) to join the cause. The goal? Raise funds, spread awareness, and champion men's wellbeing in the community. Beth's vision: "I've wanted to do an event of this scale for a long time. One of our regulars inspired me to get planning, and now we're hosting a full day of fun and fundraising. It's not just a darts competition; it's a chance to highlight men's wellbeing and encourage our male friends and family to start talking." Congratulations, Beth! We can't wait to hear all about it. #Doingwellbydoinggood #PunchPromise #PunchPubs #CommunityService #Charity #DartsMarathon #MacmillanCancerSupport #CommunityEngagement #ProudPublicans
