Lord Darzi’s investigation of the NHS highlights issues of regional variation, underinvestment in technology, and the need for earlier diagnosis, and references The Medical Technology Group research into NHS performance. The ‘tilt towards technology’ he refers to must include a greater role for medical technology: https://lnkd.in/eXqzzhvd #medicaltechnology #medtech #Darzi #NHS

Predictive Health Intelligence have received MHRA clearance for hepatoSIGHT, a case-finding device that systemically scans blood records to help clinicians improve the earlier diagnosis of liver disease. Co-founder Dr Tim Jobson: “The development of hepatoSIGHT was driven by my frustration at seeing patients diagnosed with liver disease when it was already too late for most treatments. Our hope is that the tool can prevent people from falling into that situation.” #MedTech #LiverDisease #MedDevices https://lnkd.in/e2zREYjw

The Medical Technology Group reposted this
In Whitehall today, members of the ABHI team had the pleasure of attending the Innovative Devices Access Pathway Expo 🔬 . It was great to catch up with the successful companies selected to take part in the pilot, including ABHI members Roche Diagnostics UK & Ireland, Presymptom Health and HistoSonics, Inc.! The pilot is working to support eight innovative technologies and it was great to hear how the collaborative project is already generating learnings from across the system. We were able to gain valuable insights from the speakers, including David Lawson MCIPS, Dr Laura Squire OBE, Jeanette Kusel, Professor Tony Young, and were delighted to hear Baroness Gillian Merron reference the role ABHI can play in supporting the government's missions for health and growth. We look forward to working to do so 🚀
