Congratulations to our partners CELTIC CONTRACTORS LIMITED who recently hosted a Charity Golf Day at Burhill Golf Club, to raise funds and awareness of the Stripey Stork organisation, which is a Baby Bank Charity based in Surrey. The rain lashed down on the day, but nobody was deterred from chasing the ball just as much as we chased every opportunity that we could to raise funds for such a deserving charity. Celtic raised a huge £10,145.63 on the day and amazingly that value will also be match funded to exceed £20,000. Stripey Stork has so far this year helped 9,247 different families with 10,228 volunteer hours and provided 3,249 Clothes packs and 298 newborn packs. This week at Mettal UK LTD, we welcomed a fantastic student from Mary Hare School on their 2024 work experience. He has been getting stuck in all week and has even been helping us with the social posts (this very post right now, in fact) and he wanted to tell you a little bit about his week: "Hey everyone! 👋 I wanted to share my amazing work experience journey with you all. It’s been an incredible week filled with learning and new friendships! 🌟   Monday: I arrived a bit late, but everyone was super understanding. This place is really supportive! After a tour with the managers, I spent time in the Drawing and Planning office, learning about estimating, drawing, and the accuracy of plans. Then, I got to try laser cutting, which was so fun and satisfying! 🔥   Tuesday: I started in the welding shop, which wasn’t as exciting as lasers, but after lunch, I got to go back to the laser machine and spent the rest of my day there. 😄"   Wednesday: This was a blast! I worked in the Coating and Finishing building, where I learned to program the robot arms for coatings. I even programmed one to paint a sign I made with the laser cutter. Using a paint gun made me feel like John Wick! 🎨🤖   Thursday: My final day was in the office, learning about new government policy changes, creating digital images for the website, and purchasing machinery from the Netherlands.
