Tha ar Pàirtiche Ionnsachadh Air-loidhne agus Oifigear nam Meadhanan Didseatach a’ fàgail a’ Bheilg làn spionnaidh às dèidh turas gu tachartas sònraichte a chaidh a chumail le Riaghaltas na h-Alba. Iona and Abigail are leaving Brussels brimming with inspiration and ideas sparked after attending a special reception yesterday on minority language regeneration, hosted by Scottish Government Brussels. Iona and Abigail delivered an inspiring presentation on SpeakGaelic and how social media is attracting a new generation of Gaelic speakers. It was wonderful to hear from such a range of interesting speakers and we look forward to strengthening relationships with new contacts. Mìle taing! Thank you for having us!

Abair latha a bh’ againn aig tachartasan Screen Scotland a chaidh a chumail aig Pàrlamaid na h-Alba an t-seachdain-sa, a bha a’ taisbeanadh an raon farsaing de dh’ obair a tha a’ tachairt ann an craoladh agus meadhanan na h-Alba. Mar phàirt den latha, rinn MG ALBA seisean anns an Screen Machine còmhla ri Black Camel agus Astar. Chuala luchd-amhairc mu dheidhinn FilmG agus an dràma ùr a bhios a’ tighinn gu BBC ALBA tràth ann an 2025, 'The Island'. Bha e uabhasach fhèin math a choinneachadh agus a bhruidhinn ri Buill Phàrlamaid na h-Alba agus buidhnean culturail eile a tha uile a’ cur ri na meadhanan ann an Alba, aig tachartas eile air an oidhch’ sa Phàrlamaid fhèin.   We were delighted to attend Screen Scotland’s events at the The Scottish Parliament this week, showcasing the incredible range of work happening in Scottish broadcasting and media. A highlight of the day was a screening by MG ALBA, Black Camel Pictures, and Astar, held in the Screen Machine, featuring exciting projects like FilmG and the upcoming crime drama 'An t-Eilean', set to premiere on BBC ALBA in early 2025. It was great to connect with MSPs and cultural organisations promoting Gaelic media and broadcasting at an additional evening event held in the Scottish Parliament itself. Mìle taing do Screen Scotland airson an cuireadh. Many thanks to Screen Scotland for the invite.

Bha sinn uabhasach toilichte fàilte bhlàth a chur air BP Kirsty NicNèill an-diugh nuair a thadhail i air oifisean MG ALBA, BBC agus Radio nan Gàidheal ann an Steòrnabhagh. Fhuair i cothrom ionnsachadh mun obair luachmhor a tha na buidhnean a’ lìbhrigeadh agus carson a tha e cho cudromach airson a’ Ghàidhlig. Còmhla rithe, bha BP ùr airson Na h-Eileanan an Iar, Torcuil Crichton. We were delighted to welcome Kirsty McNeill MP today when she visited the MG ALBA, BBC and Radio nan Gàidheal offices in Stornoway. It provided an opportunity to demonstrate the valuable work that the organisations deliver and the importance of Gaelic broadcasting for the Gaelic language. She was accompanied by new MP for Na h-Eileanan an Iar, Torcuil Crichton. Tapadh leibh airson tighinn | Thanks for coming and we hope you enjoyed your visit.

📢 Exciting News from Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival 2024! 🎶 This past weekend, two of our brands BBC ALBA and SpeakGaelic attended Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, bringing audiences at the festival and at home the chance to engage with one of the biggest events in the Highlands and Islands. 🎤 BBC ALBA Emma and Abigail from our social team were on-site, collaborating closely with production company Beezr Studios to interview some of the amazing artists performing at the festival, creating some bespoke content for social media. Look out for clips of live performances and acoustic sets that will be popping up on our socials soon, giving you an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the festival magic. 📝 SpeakGaelic Our online learning team was busy spreading the love for Gaelic at Belladrum’s Verb Garden, sponsored by SpeakGaelic. They set up a love letter wall where hundreds of festival-goers tried their hand at writing love letters in Gaelic. The team also captured some fantastic social media content that will be rolling out on their platforms in the coming days and weeks. It was wonderful to see so many Gaelic speakers and learners from across Scotland at the festival and we were proud to contribute to the bilingual experience with translations for more signage across the Belladrum site. Mìle taing do Belladrum | Huge thanks to Belladrum for a great festival 🫶 Na cuir stad air a’ cheòl – catch up on Belladrum content on BBC iPlayer! 🎥 #BBCALBA #SpeakGaelic #Belladrum #Belladrum2024 #ScottishGaelic #FestivalFun #GaelicLove #BehindTheScenes

Teaching ✅ Over the last few months we’ve been working with MG ALBA to create a bespoke course on how to “Edit for Social”. What an amazing journey it’s been and watching the results from the students at the end of the two days was unreal. Thank you so much to Lisa Annette for trusting us to write and deliver this course. And a massive thank you to everyone who took part in the course. Bring on June when we do it all again. Ceud Mìle Taing.
