Our goal is to co-create a more diverse, inclusive and innovative workplace. Through our collaboration with JINC, a not-for-profit helping young people in the Netherlands to gain a sneak preview into the world of work to guide their future career aspirations, discover their strengths and learn job application skills, #TeamMileway in Amsterdam proudly hosted a group of 12 -14 year old students for a ‘flash internship’. The session was designed to capture imaginations and open their eyes to the vast career opportunities available in the dynamic world of commercial real estate. Giving them a preview of the workings of the largest last mile real estate company in Europe, Omar el Abdellaoui and Mohamed Aden from our IT team, Sven Joustra and Sam Kruger from our Dutch Asset Management team, and Lucia Garmendia and Anthe van Elst from our HR team were passionate mentors in this special collaboration led by Stella Donselaar and Larissa Tavares, as part of our #MilewayActs programme, with the support and guidance of Ray Tulleken from JINC. We hope this experience was as valuable and fulfilling for the students as it was for us.

Our London team recently rolled up their sleeves for a rewarding day of giving back at Three Corners Adventure Playground, part of London Play Design. #TeamMileway took part in essential maintenance, including painting, decorating, groundwork, and repairing wooden structures. Adventure play, developed in the 1940s, is open to all young Londoners. Our restoration efforts help keep these playgrounds running, providing vital childcare and play opportunities for thousands of low-income families in the community. #TeamMileway in Glasgow recently volunteered at Hansel Ayrshire, a leading social care charity in Ayrshire, founded in 1963. Hansel provides vital services such as residential care, supported living and respite care. Our team had the opportunity to paint and refresh the outdoor spaces of the residential care homes. Hansel also helps to empower individuals with learning disabilities by helping them develop job skills and find meaningful employment, fostering inclusive workplaces through partnerships with businesses and schools.
