This year’s World Mental Health Day focuses on a topic close to our hearts: workplace mental health. One of the first key steps employers can take may seem obvious, but our research shows it’s crucial for making a significant impact: improving life at work. 🔑 The effectiveness of your manager, the behaviour of senior leaders, the velocity of your workload, and the relationships with your teammates all significantly affect how we feel both at work and outside of it. A study found that 69% of employees believe their manager affects their wellbeing as much as their spouse—even more than their doctor. While initiatives like yoga and meditation can be beneficial, they often don’t reach everyone. With only 27% of employees participating in workplace wellbeing programmes, participants often aren’t the ones who need help the most. How can you empower employees to take charge of their wellbeing and reap the benefits of a happier, healthier workforce that drives productivity? 👉 Join our Sustainable Productivity webinar on Oct 30, where we’ll show you how: https://lnkd.in/e9BF_8UJ

Fad or future? Few topics are getting more attention in HR than the skills based organisation. Some CHROs I speak with are committed believers, convinced that this is central to making their organisation fit for a more agile, digital and AI future. Others are openly sceptical seeing skills-based as the latest consultant-led fad that will pass like so many others. To find out more, I'm delighted to be speaking with the authors of the seminal new book 'The skills-powered organization' Tanuj Kapilashrami and Ravin Jesuthasan, CFA, FRSA in the latest MindGym book club podcast. We are recording on Monday so if you have any questions you'd like me to ask, please post below or message me directly. Hoodwinked or hooked up? You'll know a lot more after this robust and lively conversation

As a manager, what’s your ideal cadence for performance conversations with your team? These discussions are vital for enhancing performance at every level. For example, a Gallup report shows that regular strength-based feedback can reduce employee turnover by 14.9%. Conversely, poorly handled conversations can drive talent away. Another study indicates that 85% of employees would consider quitting after an unfair review. ✅ As an HR and talent leader, how can you support frontline managers in ensuring that performance discussions uplift rather than discourage employees? Join our upcoming webinar to find out. We’ll share unique insights, approaches, and tools that empower managers to navigate feedback challenges confidently, fostering sustainable productivity across your organisation. 👉 Sign up now: https://lnkd.in/excqFv2H
