Today is the start of International Stress Awareness Week. Stress is the body’s way of responding to excessive, or too many pressures and when this becomes overwhelming stress occurs, as the body experiences the fight or flight or stress response. This means that stress is not good for you and is an unhealthy state of body or mind or both. It is however a natural physical response that can happen to anyone at any point in their life and lead to further mental health conditions and should not be something we are ashamed of. MPI's head office hosted a Halloween Bake Sale with raffle and games in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and as always our staff went above and beyond with their bake skills!! All in all we raised £120.95! Earlier in the year as part of our Great Big Green Week celebrations MPI sent seeds to everyone brave enough to take on the challenge to grow sunflowers and pumpkins. Below are a few of the successful pumpkins, just in time for the season. Many of the pumpkins have been made into chocolate chip pumpkin bread, plain pumpkin bread, pumpkin brownies and pumpkin mac n cheese and seeds are being saved for next year, a truly wonderful environmental project that is testament to the commitment MPI's collective workforce has to our sustainability. It was great to get out on site with VolkerRail Ltd today and visit there project in Bradford. I had the opportunity to meet up with one of the MPI Limited Installation teams on the project who following postive feedback from Barry Smith and his VolkerRail Ltd site team I presented the team with an MPI recognition award for there excellent work. As part of our award scheme the guys could chose a £50.00 voucher or a £100.00 donation to the charity of there choice I am pleased to say the lads chose the following.
