Melania Kulczycka of VUFinder Studios joined us for a fascinating discussion, explaining how it works in practice as well as the the benefits and opportunities that come with VP. ➤ 𝑨 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 Unlike green screens, which require actors to perform against a blank backdrop and rely heavily on post-production to add the final environment, VP utilizes a large LED wall displaying a real-time, 3D environment. This allows actors to see and interact with their surroundings, leading to more natural performances and eliminating the challenges of matching lighting and perspective in post-production. ➤ 𝑻𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒔 𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒍 Successful use of VP relies on thorough pre-production planning, similar to building a complex set. This upfront investment translates to a significantly shorter post-production phase. In some cases, basic editing can be completed within a day, while even complex projects typically require only a week. ➤ 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆, 𝒄𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒆𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆! Clients gain several advantages from VP. They can virtually scout and finalise locations and environments before shooting, ensuring they get exactly what they envision. Additionally, VP offers significant sustainability benefits by reducing travel and location logistics, minimising the carbon footprint of productions. One of the most significant advantages of VP is its ability to unlock boundless creative possibilities. Unlike traditional methods, VP is not restricted by physical limitations or real-world constraints. This allows for the creation of fantastical and impossible settings, limited only by the imagination of the creative team.
