About us
In July 2019, Music Declares Emergency launched our declaration of a Climate and Ecological Emergency, from the UK music industry. Signed by all the leading major and independent labels, key business organisations, high profile artists and thousands of individual music industry professionals, the declaration represents the commitment of the UK music industry (and many global music industry supporters) to tell the truth about the climate emergency, transform our businesses to reduce emissions, promote social justice and lobby governments for the necessary systemic changes needed to preserve all life on earth.

2024 has been a landmark year for us. We have built a fan based movement through NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET that now has over 12,000 members in the UK, partnered with the BRITs for the first time, saw Sounds Right launch into the world and helped to make the Music Climate Pact a key part of the recording sector’s journey towards a zero carbon future. Music Declares Emergency is a meeting place for all in the music world to come together and work to put music at the heart of the climate conversation. We support and develop the solutions and public engagement we need to create a better future through music. In 2025 we are looking to achieve even more, grow the Movement, power the transitions, create and curate the conversations and support the wider climate movement. Why not be a part of this?
