We attended the MK AI Summit yesterday and to call it insightful and eye-opening is an understatement! How effective is your EAP? Is it providing the support that your people need? As we approach Mental Health Awareness Day (this Thursday), it is an ideal opportunity to remind your people of the tools available to them to help better manage stress, unwind, relax, or quieten a busy mind. It might be an app or online class to help them learn mindfulness skills, or providing tips and reminders to get out into nature, step away from the screen, connect with friends, or even to seek professional help if things are becoming overwhelming. Sometimes, people don't even realise that the little things can make all the difference. As we kick off ADHD Awareness Month, there are lots of ways to support employees - all of which can go a long way in helping them flourish in the workplace. ➡️ ADHD awareness training for managers and coworkers about ADHD can address misconceptions and promote empathy while open conversations about neurodiversity can create a culture where employees feel comfortable disclosing ADHD. ➡️ Make reasonable accommodations like flexible schedules which allow employees to work during their most productive hours or offer remote work options to accommodate energy fluctuations and concentration challenges. ➡️ Workspace adjustments such as providing noise-cancelling headphones, quieter spaces, or private work areas will help minimise distractions. HR can help employees manage workloads through prioritisation and offering regular breaks to refresh focus. ➡️ Task management apps or software tools (like Trello, Asana, or timers) that help with organisation and time management can make all the difference. Using visuals or flowcharts for task instructions will help with focus and comprehension. ➡️ Assistive technology that supports attention and organisation (e.g., text-to-speech tools, reminder apps) can be incredibly useful. ➡️ Conduct regular, non-judgmental check-ins with employees to assess their needs and adjust accommodations as needed. ➡️ Provide access to counseling services or Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) that offer support with ADHD-related challenges. ➡️ Offer programmes or workshops focused on mindfulness, meditation, and stress management to help employees cope with overwhelm. #adhd #eap #mindfulness #employees #neurodiversity #wellbeing
