Every bid we write is asking the customer to make a change. It might be changing to using our product, installing our software, changing how the customer's service, or internal support is delivered (i.e. delivered by us). We'll often include a mobilisation or phase in plan as part of our bid showing the actions we'll take to implement our solution. But when we're doing that, and persuading the customer to make a change in how they work, do we really understand what we're asking? Delivering effective change (Change Management) is a huge discipline in itself. It has it's own best practices, research, understanding of what works (and what doesn't), academic studies (and courses), careers etc. How much of that expertise and knowledge are we as bidders drawing on? Not just in our bids, but also in the changes we make to our own bidding teams? Whether we're implementing a new AI software system, changing our approach to bid/no bid decisions, adapting our team structure, entering a new market with our bids - they're all changes. When we make those changes, are we adopting the best practice approaches developed by the experts in Change Management? Or are we just 'getting on with it' and hoping for the best? Our article looks at change management, how we can use it in changes to our bid teams, and (perhaps) use it more effectively in our bids. Leading & Managing Change in Bidding is just one of the modules in our course - together they could help you win more bids, improve your bid team's morale, and your own career in bid management.

We are delighted to announce mybidcareer has been awarded Endorsed Training Provider status by The Institute of Sales Professionals. To be Endorsed, providers must pass all elements of a comprehensive assessment by the ISP, benchmarking them against the highest quality training available in the market today and confirming their training aligns to nationally recognised standards. The ISP is an OFQUAL regulated awarding body, and end point assessor for a range of apprenticeships, including the Bid & Proposal Coordinator Apprenticeship. As part of her review of our Management & Leadership Skills for Bidders course, ISP Technical Delivery Manager Sallyann Baldry comments included: “Some e-learning can feel very impersonal, but this is not the case with mybidcareer.” “An example of good practice is the community function…. Learners can ask for support, advice or additional information from either the course lead or others enrolled on the programme.” “Logging in was very quick and simple, with a link to set a password sent and confirmed by email.” As a result of our new Endorsed status, all those completing the course (including those already signed up) will receive an official certificate from the ISP confirming their completion, to add to their CV. • How important is good management and leadership in bidding? This research from Mairi Morrison CPP CAP.APMP on stress in bid teams illustrates just how important it is. Two quotes from the research: 88% of bid and proposal workers stated that they had mental health problems due to work (compared to 59% in the general working population) And from Dr Nigel Hudson in his contribution to the paper: "Within the bidding profession, there's 50/50 split between those managers who believe that they're responsible for the wellbeing and learning of their team, and those who abdicate this responsibility to the individual." Our course, Management and Leadership Skills for Bidders, will give you the tools to deliver the wellbeing and learning your team need and deserve
